WL's House Warming

Last year during the New Years Eve attempt to watch fireworks, we were saying how nice if one of us go to stay along that stretch and next year, we would have been able to watch it in the comfort of aircon and nice food:)

Well, manifestation by everyone worked!

This year, WL managed to rent a new place in one of those buildings and invited us to her house for a housewarming party!:)

View from her house.. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

You cant see it in the picture but  on the very right side, there is a very large ship that looks like a cruise liner... and that is supposed to be the Shiek's PRIVATE SHIP :)

Ace found a MUTANT strawberry that looked like a flower:)

Everyone helping out to prepare the lunch...

Which included braised pork...

And curry chicken...

And Max had nanny duties as well:) wahahahaha..

After dinner we just sat around and chatted.. really pleasant lor... Wish we could stay somewhere like that but too bad man.. the rent is double ours...

Can see atlantis too:)

It was also Earth Day lah.. so tat we can switch off the lights, we ended the party around 7 plus and then we went home and Ace insisted that we have to live in candlelight darkness for the rest of the half and hour of the Earth Hour:) Hahahaa...

I am looking forward to New Years Eve in WL's house already! wahahahaa...

Dubai Light Festival 2014

Our friend told us that there is going to be a Dubai Light Festival and asked if we are interested to visit.. since nothing much to do.. we decided to go lor:)

The festival starts off inside Dubai Mall with this light display....

We even saw this bones of a dino that the owner of Dubai Mall had bought... huge man!

Then we headed out to the outside where the light festival main festivities are held...

The first one we saw is an interesting art pice.. they are cars but their windows are fitted with screens and so you look inside the car, it looks like there are fish inside the car like that.. or perhaps they used a projector of some sort .. i dunno :) But it looks nice...

Rare chance to take photo of the Burj...

People mountain people sea as we try to move through with all our equipment:)

We walked along the DM fountain and I came to a part of Downtown Dubai I have never visited...
Here, they have even more light art installations...

These "trees" look like colourful lollipops and can change colour too!

Max taking a pic of Ace...

Can you see a shark inside this waterfall screen?

Can you see a dolphin?:P

There are also light displays on the buildings...

There is even this huge bag... wahahaa..

This one is called tree of life..

F told us this is the only place where you can take a GOOD picture of the whole Burj Khalifah...

She helped us take one with us, the Tree of life and Burj inside:) hahahaha...

This one is Ace and Max's favourite art installation. It is called stickman.. they put alot of stick men.. i think 64 different ones all over the buiding and timed the lighting of each one to make it seem like the man is running across the building and climbing up and down.. it is really nice!:)

I found a video on youtube to show you how it looks like...

There is another one with flowers on the building..

This one is quite special because the light show uses the entrance of the Dubai Palace Hotel as the screen and the pictures a fitted to the shape and design of the gate...

Found another video for this one...

Where's Ace?:P

I thought the reflection is very nice..

Then we walked through this shopping area opposite Dubai Mall and it was filled with touristy knick knacks. Max was saying they very clever to organize this light show to direct traffict through this place cos usually, this place is a dead town...

We were just in time for another fountain show lor... and it was absolutely wonderful cos they did it Love Me (from Phantom of the Opera, by Jackie Evancho) and it was beautiful... had F in goosebumps even!

Crossed the bridge back to Dubai mall...

Where we were greeting with beautiful music...

Back to the same light display. Without realizing it, we had already been walking 3 hours!!!!!

That is taking while driving home lor.. even nearby they decorated all the trees with lights :)

Very swee :)
