Good Samitarians
If there is one good thing that came out of Daddy's broken leg, it would be that we met many really nice and kindhearted people who filled warmth in our hearts.
Ace, if you are reading this one day, always remember to help others and show kindness.. and always remember to PAY IT FORWARD, OK?
There are so many people who are helpful...
Jez and Richie: Always ready to send us to hospital, help us collect stuff and listen to me grumble.. and bring me to eat xian cai ya tang during this period...
Papa and mama (Yeye and Nai nai): Who are so understanding.. always coming to bring Ace downstairs.. and always buying things for us to eat when they come..
Mummy and Daddy (wai gong, Waipo), Popo, Ah Yee and Ah Ma: For their invaluable help with taking care of Ace, cooking food for us, washing our dishes, washing our clothes, spending so much extra cash to buy this and that so that we can live here and feel more comfy at their house.. Especially mummy who has to give up her master bedroom to us and Daddy who is always working hard to cook for us and Ace... Ah Yee for supplying lots of supper (no wonder we gained weight.. hahaha)
The malay couple : We were waiting for a cab and when they saw Daddy's leg, they let us have the cab first even though there were there first.
The malay aunty: who was in a cab and could have gotten off opposite the road to save $0.20 but made the cab u turn to stop right in front of us so that we could get a cab immediately.
Mr Teo: We were waiting for a cab in the rain, he was back from dinner with his family and he came over to shelter us with his umbrella.
Dr Leo and Uncle Ng and all at the plaster room: Thanks for all the jokes, the encouragement and all the things you said to help me and Max feel better about the injury and have more belief
The taxi uncles who always come out to help max in and out of the car...
And all others who showed concern in one way or the other, thank you!

wow...what a wonderful testimonial of Random Acts Kindness happening around us ;)
ReplyDeleteWho says Singaporeans are not gracious people? Whatever i have experienced since the day i broke my leg were simply out of this world.
ReplyDeleteThe ones who really surprised me were the Malay auntie who purposely made the taxi driver make a u-turn and stop the cab right in front of me when she could have stopped opp the road. The taxi driver told us that the auntie actually spotted us and since it was drizzling, she wanted us to have the cab! You are the Best! And you nearly brought a tear to my eye...
Another person is Mr Teo (old enough to be my father), who happened to have a big umbrella, coming back from dinner. He came over and offered his umbrella. No, he did not pass us his umbrella, he HELD it up for us while we waited for the cab for a good 10 mins. He has indeed brought shame to many of us, by being a fine example of a kind person.
Kudos to you kind people in the world!
