Ace's 3F Assembly Performance As PSY

Ace told me the other day when he came back from school that he is going to be PSY in his school assembly performance and that he wants to buy a new outfit for that..

My initial reaction was NO.. because it was such a waste of money lah...

And then Max said, "But he is only PSY once in his life..." And Max promised to buy for him.. and then I think think think.. since Shu Shu getting married soon.. can recycle.. OK lah :)

And so we did...

That is Ace in the outfit on the day of the full dress rehearsal.

According to Ace, their theme was an OSCAR AWARDS for the BEST BITS OF 2013 for their class. They actually sat down together and brainstormed what categories they would have and they voted for the categories that they liked and which category they would like to act it..

Ace was nominated as PSY.. since Gangnam Style is his favourite song...

Hosts of the day.. JN and SM... the golden boy and girl of their class...

The first award is the favourite visitor... who is SZ's grandpa. He is a scientist and came to talk about science and show the children how to conduct science experiments...

Then next is the Great Reactions Oscar... they did this experiment of putting eggs into different solutions and taking the egg out to explore it...  the girls were going.. "yew.." when they touched the slimey egg...

Best animation Oscar showed off the animation that the class made using SCRATCH software. The one featured on the screen is actually done by Ace and his teammate, T :)

Most frightening youtube Oscar goes to their topic on dragons and the many dragons that they drew... The dragon on the right bottom corner is actually drawn by Ace:)

And then there was an award presented to their 自编,自导,自演 drama that they did using an ipad!:)

Just so you get a chance to hear him talk with a mish mash of accents...



Here is part of the play.. I actually cannot understand most of what they are saying.. but the one saying "Comeon guys, let's go home.. I'm tired.." is Ace... According to Ace, it is a story about some dolphins who wanted to go to Wild Wadi.. a water theme park in Dubai.

Then there was a Use Your Brain and Body Oscar.. it is for a game they call SNAP.. so basically there are numbers and you are given some sums.. and you have a competition to SNAP on the number that is the answer...

They even sabo a teacher to come up to compete with their classmate... And why they choose this teacher? Number 1, he is the math dept head.. number 2, they were all trying to get back at him for their teacher. Apparently, during a Soak The Teacher fund raising event in school, he kept goading people to throw their sponges at their form teacher, Ms R... so they wanted to get back at him on her behalf:)

Well, the little girl won... COS THEY DOUBLED HER POINTS!:) wahhaah

The GO Horizon award went to the children who represented the school in a swim meet and won ;)

Funniest moment went to the SOAK THE TEACHER event that happened in school....

There was even a touch of drama as Mr J, who got soaked by AL(who was receiving the award) came and throw paper strips at him for revenge... (AL soaked J during that event) and the MCs even got into the mood by saying, "Off with his head off with his head.." just like what they learnt in the Tudor Module...

Most scrummy oscar went to the donuts and rockets module that they did :)

And then... the moment you have all been waiting for...

The dance and music oscar that went to the Oppa Gangnam Style event they did in school... to raise funds for charity.

Then the children sat down for their assembly.. and Max finally got a taste of the assembly...

First they sing happy birthday.. then they announce who received an award... who receive their pen license... etc...

Our friend told us that he heard a rumour tat indian kids can memories their times tables till 99x99. Given that MOST of the math champions in the different levels are INDIANS... I am suspecting this rumour may be true! wahahahaha

The school sent a few teams to take part in in a F1 In School thingy in Abu Dhabi.. interesting how these guys did fundraising to raise funds for uniform and they even won some prizes:)

Then they talked about this girl in Ace's class who won some awards in a gymnastics competition :)

Last but not least.. an award to ME...

And also to Max...

For giving birth to such a wonderful son!:) wahahahahahah
