Goodbye, Crocs!

My son is very atas. His crocs spoil liao.. bought him new expensive slippers, dun want to wear, ngeh ngeh want to wear his two sizes too small crocs.. so we boh pian have to buy back crocs lor...

The other day, a friend posted in FB that her son received some cute looking crocs from their aunt..They looked like some sort of army print and I thought Ace will love them..

Seems like this design was only available in Japan.. I decided to check with my friend who works in crocs if confirm sgp dun have and she said dun have.. BUT she does have a voucher that gives you 40% discount and so she passed me the voucher..

So, many thanks to her, we now can buy crocs at discount and Ace can choose from the normal range instead of only discounted range cos we find crocs a little overrpiced for the lifespan...

Went to Parkway Parade and couldnt find his size.. and then had to go to Tampines and finally after trying this and that.. Ace decided on this pair...

He asked if we could also buy him buttons.. the voucher covered everything except those limited editions and star wars series and his good daddy found him two star wars ones which were the last pieces left...

Also thanks to Uncle A who intrigued Ace when he dressed up as a storm trooper, Ace decided he wanted this pair of buttons:)

Told Ace that his old pair of crocs are too jia lat to be handed down to someone else so better to throw it away there and then...

Our good friend took his pair of shoes, walked up to the dustbin and told me, "I had so many memories with this pair of crocs..." and gently laid them inside the bin.

He pursed his lips and when Max saw that , he went, "Wah lau eh, dun tell me he is going to cry..."

And then Ace was about to go into full cry mode liao..

"Eh, public leh.. you bought new shoes should be happy mah.. why you cry..." I reminded Ace gently..

And then he unpursed his lips... but couldnt stop the single tear drop coming out of his eye..

"I had such happy memories with that shoe.." Ace repeated.

"Well, you can make new memories with your new shoe.." I told him.

And then he looked at me with his tear-stained puppy eyes and said, "Mummy, do you know why I feel like crying? It is because this shoe created many memories in Dubai and we are no longer there."

So I had to explain to Ace that life is like creating a story book. Dubai is an old chapter and Singapore is a new chapter already. It is nice to think of the old stories we made and maybe think about them every now and then but it is very important tat we focus on making new wonderful stories. Also, if we keep holding on to the past, we will be unable to enjoy the present. And so, it is time to say goodbye to Dubai :)

Seems like he understood cos he returned to happy mood rather quickly.

Max was just very amused that his son can even have an emotional moment over a pair of shoes:) hahahaha..
