Extreme Sailing

I have never heard of the term, "Extreme Sailing" before and so when Max told me he was invited to a Extreme Sailing event, I was happy to go along with him and Ace.

Is extreme sailing like some sort of sailing race? What makes it so extreme and different from normal sailing? I was excited to find out.

Because we had already promised to go volunteer at a CNY event to provide a CNY lunch for some elderly folks, we had to miss out on the chance to take one of the extreme sailing boats out to sea... So we arrived after lunch... all hungry and ready to eat!

After we parked and walked out of the building towards the competition grounds.. I saw these and wondered if they are the boats used for extereme sailing.. so small leh.. zun boh?;)

And then I saw the actual boats being used and saw that huge netting in between and finally, I started to understand a little why this is considered EXTREME...

We went to report at the viewing gallery as guests... this is the shot of a poster I saw there..

Ace was really intrigued by this huge computer which was built by one of the sponsors that provided some sort of software I think..

Initially, Ace was really excited...

Till he tried to get some lunch.. they only served curry mutton, long beans, rice and potatoes and some sort of butter fish for lunch and so the only things Ace can eat are long beans, rice and baked potato... and he doesnt really like long beans.. if it is of any comfort though, he does have free flow coke:) wahahah

The band on our wrist that gives us access to free flow drinks and food:)

Then we decided to go to the outer deck to view the race.. whoever came up with this idea is very SMART! Wahaahahaha...

The race has started!:)

And the boats are back to back.. amazing!

Our sponsors to this wonderful event ;) Thanks, GAC:)

The boats are travelling fast and it took me a few shot to get this.. when they make turns, the boat actually TILT.. and I was told they can tilt as high as 45 degrees! Whao... not for the faint hearted..
And then they had to run across to the two side to manage the sills and all that.. it is really extreme work out for those involved:) hahaha.. no wonder it is called extreme sailing..

Team Singapore!

Now you can see the tilting very clearly.

Ace was a littl bored... just playing with his phone throughout.. sigh.

A crowd also gathered to watch the event.

This man was fiddling around so long with his selfie stick lor. i wonder why he din just ask the pple beside him to help him take photo:) wahahaha..

Time is running out!

We decided to go around and see what other things they might have..

There is a game where you can make believe you are steering the boat and you supposed to raise the mast in shortest possible time..

In all honesty, me and Max thought Ace will take 25 seconds to complete the task... BUT..

He completed it in 10!

I canot help but want to take photo of this uncle beside Ace.. he was in bright pink t shirt, pink pats, bright pink socks and bright pink slippers... I mean... I think he is really very sporting lor :) Even I will think twice to dress up so BRIGHT:)

We aso got to pose for a family photo:)

Ace was just concerned when the cotton candy store was reopening:) Wahahaha

Max and Ace din want to do this but you can queue up to sit in the Range Rover and feel it go down a slope awesome;)

After umpteen tries (They allow unlimited tries) and sending the ball all over the place.. Ace received a shoe bag that Max says he wants:) wahahaha

Ok, time to say goodbye and bring Ace somewhere to fill up his tummy with foods he likes:)

We had fun...

Tata and hopefully we get more chances to attend interesting events like this again.. reminds me of our time in Dubai:) hehe..
