Well, a week later, a group of Singaporeans and Malaysian friends we have came together to have a picnic in the park together with us at Ace's invitation:)
Finally a group of us gathered outside the park.. With an exception of Max, myself and Ace, they have all been in Dubai for 3-6 years but NONE of them have EVER been to a park in dubai to picnic! wahahahaha:)
Ace insisted we have to wear the family outfit again and that we are all to wear the liverpool shirts again...
Ace brought along his ball and Uncle Lim and Daddy played ball with him for a while...
Then Ace got tired of playing football and started to run up and down the hill we were picnicing beside...
He started to roll down the hill (because Aunty Lily was contemplating doing that and Ace wanted to show off to her) and that sort of peeled off the dried blood he has on his old wounds when he rolled down the slope with a four wheeler last week and so he hurt his leg again..
In the end, Ace just hang out, chill out and walked with Huiling Jie jie to the creek to take pics and in the end, the ones playing with the ball are the three "lao uncle"...Max, Adam and Lim.. wahahaha:)
It was a potluck picnic and there was food galore. Initially, Uncle Adam said he will fry noodles.. everyone was so excited to TRY HIS COOKING! Wahahaha.. but in the end, Uncle Adam merely bought his fried noodles from somewhere.. Uncle Gan made egg and mayo sandwhiches for us and bought ice and cold drinks... Fayth Jie jie brought fruits: grapes, strawberries, bananas and kiwi for Ace... Huiling Jie Jie brought fruit tarts and a secret birthday surprise cake and some snacks.. as for us, we brought our fav picnic food-- Hummus with arabic bread:) wahahaha...Uncle Lim even bought Ace an ice cream on the spot.. so Ace was dam happy lah:) wahaha..
Then Fayth Jie Jie took out her badminton racket and the boys started to play badminton..
As for me, I just sit there, take pics and eat and eat and eat.. wahahaha:)
As it was turning dark soon, we quickly finished up our dinner and took out the chocolate cake tat HL jie jie brought to celebrate Fayth Jie Jie's birthday:)
Birthday girl made a wish and we proceeded to EAT CAKE!
It got really dark and sort of difficult to cut the cake.. so Ace whipped out his red flashlight (that was part of his NERF GUN) to help to brighten things a little.. wahahahah... I think my flash was more helpful lor!:)
The famous Burj Khaifa.. gleaming and sparkling in the skyline... just a side note.. I just found out that this building was initially to be named Burj Dubai. But because of the economic crisis.. as a thank you gesture or maybe as a bribery gesture to Abu Dhabi, who lent them money to tide over the crisis, they named the building instead after the shiek of Abu Dhabi... Shiek Khalifa...
Anyway, it got very cold and so we all decided to go home.. when we reached out car, Ace insisted that he wanted to go back and play with the four wheeler.. so after leaving our things in the car, we drove back to the park and went to play with it..
Mindful of his experience the week before, Ace kept reminding us that he wanted the one with four pax. I think he secretly got worried when he saw that the orange 4 pax 4 wheelers did not have any railing in front.... But he looked up and saw the banner and realized that there is another design.. the red one.. with a railing in front and he said, "Maybe we take the red one..." Hahahahaha... But max still chose the orange one anyway.. cos it looked more sturdy...
Ace is not so frightened after he realizes that he has a seatbelt:)Anyway, the park was filled with people. We told Ace that his job was to be our horn and BEEP loudly at people who are crossing the street... we saw many dangerous children who either ran across the street with no warning, stopped their "cars" suddenly with no warning, anyhow filter without warning and a group of them were leaning to the side and driving only on two wheels as a stunt just for fun...
That is me and max.. this time round, we are in charge of peddling.. we found out tat both have to peddle to make it easier to move.. if only he paddled or only I paddled.. can die lor!:) wahahaha
We drove another direction towards the bridge and saw many interesting things.. that is the beautiful view across the creek...
The park is very dark but there are random lights all over the place and underneath all the lights, you always find someone bbqing lor.. smokey smokey!:)
We finally finished our ride and it was time to go..We enjoyed ourselves so much we are thinking maybe we should picnic at the beach the next time:) hehehe
