For the past one week, there has been fireworks going on near our place... one of the good things about staying at our place is that we get to see fireworks pretty often...
On the first day it started, we were just driving home when we heard the explosion of fireworks and promptly drove to car park where we can see it and watched it there...
Sharing these beautiful fireworks with you....
The thing about the fireworks here though is that for the first few days, it started promptly at 9pm. Last year, the timings were rather erratic.. they happy happy start at 9, happy start at 9.15.. happy happy start at 9.30pm... This year, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were actually starting ON TIME.. that is until the weekend where we happened to finish dinner by the creek and wondered why there were so many people there. We waited for about 10 min and saw no sign of the fireworks and decided to go home...
when we reached home, we decided to hang around tat carpark and at 9.30pm.. the fireworks started. Then for two or three days, the firework started at 9.30pm instead.. today leh, their mood change again and the fireworks starts at 9pm again... wahahaahahhahahaha:) I wonder just how do their trains arrive on time here.. wahahahhaa....

Nothing To Buy
I think it is a blessing in disguise that Max found this apartment that we are staying in...
He was just driving around and found this place is TO LET and so he took a look and booked it... This place we stay in is good because it is near the metro and there is a sort of a neighbourhood shopping mall nearby so if Max is overseas, I still have somewhere I can bring Ace to... and then there is also a Mac Donalds and a few supermarts.. also useful for when Max is overseas and me and Ace are left on our own..
Besides that, there are quite a number of those small small departmental stores nearby too... AVENUE, MAX, TO BUY... sound like so ang moh right? Actually very indian.. And recently, they even opened this huge store called Day To Day.. we have always driven past and wondered what they sell inside but never had a chance to fully explore..
The other weekend, we were sort of feeling bored and since we had dinner in the area, after dinner, we decided to walk around a little bit and explore all these small departmental stores just to know exactly what they are selling...
The first one we went to was Day To Day.. it is a Filipinno store of sorts.. It is huge and sells all sorts of USELESS THINGS! wahahahahah...
I think of it as more of a bedok interchange old shops a combined into one.. cos here, you can find things that you use in the kitchen.. hair accessories, stationary, figurines, vases, tshirts, clothes, and all sorts of CHEAP TOYs:)
The downside of it is that most of it is of such poor quality both me and Max cannot bring ourselves to buy anything there except the things like stationary....
But it has all sorts of strange things as well... look wat we found! The trusty karang guni weighing scale... I wonder who buys these...
Ace trying to weigh the basket.. wahahaha:) Ka-rang guni..ph zuah, gu sah kor, radio, dian si keee!
They also sell shoes and Max made a bet with me that if I were to be willing to buy ANY SHOE from the shoe selection and wear it everyday for a month, he will chop his head off... Most of the shoes are dam ugly.. but there are one or two gems.. like this pair tat costs only 10aed.. tat is something like $3.30 sing! Dirt cheap lor.. for a pair of heels... somemore the quality is not bad leh..
After that, we walked to another shop called My Buy and again, nothing we are willing to buy because it is a very strange selection of shoes and clothes... but at least slightly better quality than that inside Day To Day....
Since it is on the way, we decided to explore Max... no, I din mean explore my husband.. I meant explore the departmental store called Max:) wahahaahaha...
This place sells stuff that is more expensive BUT at least the quality is decent and we are willing to buy... We managed to buy two shirts and a tie for Max.. the shirts hor print is exactly the same as G2000.. texture also feels the same... BUT only 59aed EACH! That is less than $20 sing lor!:)
While Max was choosing shirts, my son also entertained himself by DRESSING UP and asking me if he is handsome...
I think he looks quite nice in a hat!:)
That is Ace showing off his new pyjamas:)
After we finished buying the things we wanted, we decided to go home. We decided to have a competition.. I will walk home and the two boys will take the car and see who will reach home first... we sort of reached at the same time cos their cars were parked really far away BUT they RAN to the car while I merely strolled home.. hehehe:)
I felt sort of sad now that I have explored these places leh... HAI.. once and again, confirmed my thinking about all these places.. NOTHING TO BUY.. No wonder I never bothered to explore them for the past one year I have been staying here!:)

Training With Daddy
The other day, I was telling Max that I wanted to buy a pair of flip flops and he said he saw them on sale at one of the factory outlets near our house.. so we went to have a look...
While we were there, sharp eyed Ace saw a pair of Liverpool shorts that went with his Liverpool shirt and looked at his dad with puppy dog eyes.. so tadah... That is him modeling his new shorts with his liverpool jersey and liverpool ball.. alas, not the most up to date version:) wahahahaha
The new outfit got him motivated to go out and play ball with his dad and so the other day, the two boys went out to the park to do some ball training...
They trained for both soccer and basketball... and Max says that Ace's ball sense has improved by alot!:) Initially they only practiced soccer but Ace said that he was the worst in Basketball amongst all the neighbours because in his words, "One knows how to snatch the ball well, one can bounce the ball well and one can shoot well.. only one can do NOTHING WELL..." And the one who could do nothing.. he was referring to himself.. And so his dad decided to teach him some basketball basics so that he can at least do something well as well...
Because Ace enjoyed the training so much, we arranged to go again the next day. This time I went along so that I could take pictures...
Me relac one corner...
After a while, the sprinklers came on and our picnic mat was WET.. so we had to change position and continue...
max put the bag and water bottle on the floor and asked Ace to pretend those were defenders and he had to maneuver the ball around them to shoot at the goal... I must say that compared to the last time I watched him play ball, he has certainly improved!:)
Well done, Ace:)
Time to practice passing in basketball:)
Ace resting after his training...
Daddy prep talk abit during 100 PLUS time...
On our way home, I decided to take photo of this car tat is park right next to ours.. notice anything different about it??
See, our car is parked on the floor and this car is parked on the KERB.. THIS IS THE REASON WHY PEOPLE BUY 4WD in dubai.. Not really because of the sand but just so they can park on the kerb! wahahahaahhhahahahahahaha:)
