Adventures In Dubai Day 34: The Day We Found A Rainbow!

We were watching TV and suddenly, Ace told me, "Mummy, there is a rainbow in our house!" And indeed.. from somewhere, there was a beam of light tat broke into 7 colours and it landed just nice beneath our clothes hanger on the floor... so I asked Ace to take a photo with it.. hahaha too bad it is not so obvious in the photo...

Then we got bored and dressed ourselves up.. hahaha...


I dun remember wat dinner we had..something tat I have already cooked before I think.. so I din bother to take pictures.. but interestingly.. maybe because we were leaving each other soon and all the emotions made us hungry.. hahahaha.. everyone felt hungry and we decided to go out for a walk to find something to eat... we walked across on a bridge tat had this metal track to allow bicycles to go up as well.. i also dunno wat is the pt since I dun see anyone on a bike...

Ace wanted to eat Mac Donalds and so we walked over to this foodcourt and Ace said, "Today is the happiest day... today is a happy happy day..." just because he had mac donalds... hahahaha


Me and Max were hungry too so we shared a prata... I find this foodcourt very strange as it only had 4 stalls... but then again, the two times I was here.. couldnt see alot of pple eating also...

Then Ace tried out all the rides...


And we went Choitram to do our supermarket shopping... nothing much to buy since we were leaving soon... but I found umbrellas on sale.. HAHAHAHA... isnt it funny.. umbrellas for sale in a country tat rains like ONCE A YEAR.. hahaha

We saw this Santa Claus decoration about the height of Ace so we got them to pose together lah...

Adventures In Dubai Day 33: Xmas Cum Farewell Party At Adam's House

Adam's family was going back on 27th and so before they left, Aunty Hor decided to do another BIG COOK OUT party... Aunty Hor's cooking.... fish curry, chicken curry, fried chicken wings, fried veg.. fried egg.. LOVES.. <3

And most important, Aunty Hor's home made chilli.. so yummy even with just cut fresh cucumbers!

When most of the guests left, we stayed on and the kids started playing....

For the gift exchange, we bought a rocket launcher for Benjamin and i am amazed at these kids and how they can play so many different games with the rocket launcher.. other than tagging each other by shooting at each other, they can use the launcher as a baseball bat.. use it as a golf thingy... and play treasure hunt with the bullets.. HAHAHAHA.. but of cos headed by the tua gwee (botak) tou.. Max Chua.. hahahaaah


Adam took out this bubble blowing thing and the kids started to blow and play with their big bubbles. We were saying how this is common during our time but so rare now for these kids... Anyway, Bernice just wanted to blow and flatten the bubble all the time.. hahahaaha...


We were so bored, we started to watch TAMIL MOVIE lor... and the kids entertained themselves while we started drinking all sorts of home mixed and self mixed drinks... hahahaha...

Ah Gan silently went to his room and drank in his room.. when he came out to talk to us.. his whole face was purple... not red.. purple! hahaha.. he covered himself whenI tried to take a pic of him.. the two boys taking a pic with Max...

Bernice wanted to sai nai Max and wanted to sit on his lap and eat... and then an accident happened.. while they were playing, Ace accidentally pushed Ben.. and Ben's fell and hit his head against the wall... it was apparently very painful for him and he started crying.. but Ace wanted to play still and when he wanted to hug Ben, Ben pushed him away and Ace got upset and started crying and so Bernice started crying too because she wanted to play with Ace and all Ace wanted to do is cry.. hahahahahahaha.. i think it is also because Ace is sad he will not see them again anytime soon:)

Max carried and settled them.. but Ace still cried afterward. I thought it would be nice if we had a good ending for the day and it was getting late.. so i went to talk to Ace and told him that it will be ok as long as he apologized and be friends with Ben again...so I accompanied him to Ben's room and and accompanied him to say sorry.. I wanted to let him do it in his time but we were due to go home so to speed it up, I stepped in.. hahahaha....

Anyway, once Ben said he was okie and I told Ace I allowed him to play with bernice for 5 more min, the two kids ran out of the room giggling... Then I asked him to hugged Ben and also give Bernice a hug before we left... so sweet right?:P

Max pretending to strangle Ace like Homer and Bart...



While I was bathing, Ace tried to be funny again... HAHAHAHAHA

Adventures In Dubai Day 32: Christmas Party!

This is our first and only xmas in Dubai.. I think.. hahaha..

The day before, when Ace followed me to the gym, he had great success bouncing the grey ball.. from only being able to bounce a few times, he managed to bounce more than 10 times and so he is so motivated to do it again and he asked me if I can go to gym again tomorrow. I told him tomorrow Daddy would be at home and he said, "Ask daddy to go too lah.."

So just so he can wake early to bounce ball, he actualy slept a little earlier and woke up early.... When I asked him why he woke so early.. he said, "I want to go gym to bounce ball.." And in the end, Max brought him to the gym while I stayed back to make breakfast...

As you can tell, they had fun:)


After breakfast, I made lunch while we watched some movie together.. I think we watched Dispecable Me... Max fried the veggie while I did the soup.. I wanted to cook and eat early so that I had more time to cook my curry for the xmas party ;)

Also wanted to wash the clothes... I took this picture so tat I can tell you a story..

Once, about 31 days ago, I wanted to help my hubby wash clothes. He pointed out to me and said to use this bottle of liquid to wash the clothes and so I did... but after tat, I wondered why his collar was still so black and why I could still smell all the perfume on his clothes. It felt like I was using only water to rinse the clothes like tat.. so I took out the washing liquid and took a good look.. the bottle said, DOWNY.. making your clothes soft and fresh... or something like tat...

And then I laughed lor! Cos for the past 6 months, my hubby has been using FABRIC SOFTENER to wash his clothes! ;) hahahaaha

It is not entirely his fault cos the bottle did not mention tat it is a softener... it only happened so that I am aware tat downy is a softener brand.. hahahahahahahahaha....

Well, while Max and Ace were watching the movie, I was bz frying stuff for my curry... I fried my potatoes and tou kwa and then when it was time to cook curry, we realized we are quite late and so Max took over while I want to bath... alas, we realized we bought the wrong curry paste and so in the end used some paste he had at home... the paste hor.. smelled very indian lor..so I was so upset and disappointed because after being bz in the kitchen for so many hours to produce MUTTON CURRY, all i produced was some sort of indian smelling curry...

But luckily, Max is quite a good cook so once i got over the disappointment, I realized tat the curry was actually very tasty still ;) Even Pauline said so....

The kids at the christmas party.. one of the Singaporeans there organized a party at her place.. her place is so nice.. it is like a new condo at Jumeriah... which is the beach area and her house is next to the yatch club or something like tat.. nice view lor! :)



There were a few kids there as well and Ace met a new friend who is born in SGP but grew up in Dubai.. and then for half an hour while they were eating, they were trying to hold a conversation in CHINESE.. so funny lor.. and they talked about things like.. have you watched okto before, have you tried drinking coke before.. etc.. hahahaha..






Gift exchange time.. everyone picked a number and you get to pick a gift. If you dun like the gift, you can exchange it with someone before you.. hahahahaaha...

Aunty got a vase with bracelets.. I got a starbucks mug with chocolates (I only realized there are chocolates when I was packing to go back to sgp), Adam got a mini fig plant.. so cute!

Pauline got a candle holder and salt and pepper set with xmas theme.. Max got a book THREE CUPS and it got exchanged away.. so he had to pick a new gift.. he asked Ace to pick and Ace picked the bag tat says KIDS WAY.. which turned out to be a kid sized top.. for kids.. (I wonder who bought this lor.. no one admitted to it.. hahahahaha) but well, good for Ace lor.. hahaha

Ace got a fishing set...

After a while, the kids still went back to their fav game.. IPHONE.. hahahaha

We adults just drink and make merry lah ;)



The host gave Ace her christmas hat before we left cos Ace kept looking at it.. and so we ended our day...



Ace started playing with his toys when he reached home and we watched movie together again while we ate chips.. Max asked Ace to pose with his beer bottle so tat it looked like he was drinking beer.. Ace cannot be bothered cos he is focusing on the movie.. but he held the bottle anyway....
