Ace and Max In Japan 2018 Dec Part 2
Ace loves small animals and his dad brought him to the cat cafe..
Granted, his dad is also a cat lover.. we used to try to feed the cats in our nighbourhood when Ace was much younger...
And so ends the story of how my son spent a week in japan and bought nothing for me.
So before he went on the trip, he told me his dad will give him $100 a day and said he will buy me hello kitty stuff.. i told him dun need lah... you keep to buy things you like..
GOSH.. was I wrong to say tat!
He really bought nothing for me.. or my family!
I asked him why he said cos i said DONT NEED! So all he thought about was himself!
I was dam angry.. granted I said dont need for me then what about our family?
What made me even angrier was that his dad bought a whole lot of stuff for his family and left them with Ace to bring over to grandparent's place...
Everytime i see that bag of presents I would feel dam angry..
In the time we have been living on our own.. i asked Ace, who was the one who was not working but gave him extra money every week becos he was scared Ace did not have enough money to eat. Who was the one who came over immediately when he cut his finger? Who is the one who always brings him and me out for dinner and buys us ice cream and always buys him an extra share whenever they buy their children stuff?
I told Ace when we travel, we buy things for our family to show that we are thinking of them even when we are having fun. How can he not buy anything for my family.. which I feel have done so much more for the two of us especially in the last few months since we moved out?!
Truth to be told, I was really upset tat Max remembered his family and did not remind Ace. Does he not think this is an important thing to teach our child? Even if they are no longer his family, they are still Ace's family... besides, my parents and sister's family had always been generous to him too.
BUT... well, he has never been someone who would even call his mum when going overseas... so maybe it is not impt to him.. and I guess if he wouldnt teach, I will.
I told Ace that next time he goes on a trip, he has to buy something for the family. Even is one small biscuit also must buy.
As for me, I told myself that no matter what my son offers to buy for me or do for me, I will alwys say "Thank you very much and receive it.." i will NEVER EVER say no and paiseh and let him save the money liao..
So one night Ace said he had this great ice cream to share with me. He only bought 4 and has to share now cos he scared if not by tomm all will be gone. It was 10pm at night.. and I had a heavy dinner but i said thank you very much, ate it and told him it tasted very good! hahahahaha....
And yes, this applies to ALL MEN IN MY LIFE:)
WHen we were married, Max offered to buy me an LV bag. I wanted to save money for him so i said no. I really regret after we got divorced.. I always thought to save his money... but in the end, the money I saved was not appreciated... in addition he lamented that I didnt take care about how i looked to my friends... PLUS.. .he spent the money elsewhere on someone else.. if i had known, I would NEVER have tried to SAVE MONEY FOR HIM... hahahahaha...
Mental note to self, when I get attached again, I will say YES YES YES to all gifts and presents! hahahaha...
