So after Ace bugged me to give him a baby brother or sister, I asked him, "Will you blame me if after I tried very hard but there is still no di di mei mei?"

"No!" said Ace immediately.

"But I wun give up (continuing to ask you to give me a sibling)!"

Wahahahaha.. I luffed till I PENGZ!

The other day, when i was outside and on the way home, my son suddenly called me and asked me if I could call his teacher...

I asked him why do I need to call his teacher, he told me that his teacher gave him a last chance... and warned all of them not to say nonsense on the bus... she said that if anyone said nonsense, they will not be allowed to go home on the bus and would have to sleep in the school instead...

And my honest little boy said, "Can you please call my teacher and tell her that I tried but I still said nonsense on the bus.. I still said PI GU on the bus... can you ask her to let me go home on the bus?"

I really did not know how to answer to that. I couldnt tell him what I honestly thought.. that if he did not tell her, she would not know at all mah.... I also could not just call his teacher and tell her tat right.. seems so illogical and silly to me... I also felt like.. "Wat is wrong with the word PI GU???" it is not a bad word or anything like tat even...

So i tried to find out more... and it happens that in the first place, the teacher gave them an ultimatum because my son went to confess to his teacher tat he talked nonsense on the bus.

So I tried a different approach. I told him that he has to tell his teacher himself if he wanted to tell her because even if I was the one who called her and tell her, his teacher would say, "Ya, but I already give you a last chance and already gave a warning.." and there was nothing I could say to that.. so i couldnt really help him in this area... perhaps if he told her himself and was an honest boy, his teacher would give him one more chance...

I figured he was trying to get my attention and that was his way of saying "can you come home quickly.." and so I dropped it...

The next day when I picked him up from the school bus, he told me that his teacher gave him final chance... and did not punish him but scolded him abit.. "how did your teacher know?" I asked him...

"I told her lor.."

So I just told him that's good and dun forget to keep his promise to his teacher...

And then leh, a few weeks later, because of something else, I spoke to his teacher on the phone and then I finally found out what happened...

According to the teacher, the bus driver uncle Roy complained that when the boys in the bus started to talk about nonsensical stuff, they will laugh loudly and become really noisy and so it affects his driving.. so the teacher warned them not to talk nonsense on the bus or they will be punished...

And then leh, that day, everyone still continued to still talk nonsense on the bus till the bus arrived in school. The moment the bus stopped, everyone pretended to be guai and serious and walked into the school quietly. But in fact, according to the teacher, based on her "research findings" later, the whole bus was noisy and everyone was saying nonsense lah...

So everyone walked into the school quietly.. everyone except Mr Honest here....

Our honest little boy walked up to his teacher with a sad face and told his teacher, "I am sorry Teacher Jasmine.. I really tried my best to control but I still couldnt control and i said PI GU on the bus..."

So the teacher gave him a little chiding and then went on to make him group leader of the bus in charge of reminding everyone not to say nonsense and keeping everyone in check..

Wahhahahahahaa:)

PS: A few weeks later, Ace Chua called me while I was on the way home and this time, he begged me to bring him to say sorry to the uncle who owns the sweet shop that he took a sweet from when he was very young. I am surprised he remmebered that.. when Ace was three with no concept of money, he took a sweet from a sweet shop and ate it before I could stop him.. so I explained to him that he cannot do that as we have to pay for things before we eat them... and I forgot all about it but he still remembered it and he kept crying (with tears in his eyes) and said that he wanted to say sorry to the uncle who owned the shop. I told him I dunno who the uncle is and where is the shop cos I forgot liao... so leh, I did a role play where I pretended to be the uncle and he got to say he is sorry.. and then he was happy.. I asked my teacher wat to do and she said it seems that he is just a ultra sensitive kid who puts himself into other's shoes.. so it is really nothing to worry about... so I will just let it be.. I really have never seen such an honest person in my life! Even i am not THAT honest! hahahahahahhahaha...

Master Ace On The Power Of Hugs

Everyday, Ace will ask me to hug him... if he is happy, he wants a hug, if he is unhappy, he also wants a hug. Everyday he will ask for hugs non stop.. sometimes up to 30 times a day:) It seems like he never has enough of hugs...

But I guess it is because of Ace's very loving nature. It is just great tat he is this way and I always ask him if he will still continue to hug and kiss me when he grows up and he said, "Of cos!"

The other day, I asked him why does he need so many hugs everyday and why does he like me to hug him so many times in a day and so Master Ace expounded the value of hugs in a few simple sentences....

"I want to hug because I like it when you hug me.... When I am feeling unhappy and you hug me, you will send love to me and when you send love to me, I will feel better and feel happy. (And here comes the killer) And when I am happy, I will be very 乖lor..."

And he can't have put it in better words!

As a parent, the power of hugs are invaluable...

Our children will meet obstacles and may have traumas or heartbreaks along the course of the day.. someone may have bullied them or they may have felt like a failure at something.. or maybe they just fell down and scrapped their knee etc... but there is nothing a good hug cannot result.. a good hug is like the figurative "Mothers' Lap".. it is a station where your children recharge and heal themselves of these little "injuries".. this is the reason why after you kiss a boo boo, your children feel better instantly...

One teacher and friend of mine, a very successful parent (the same one tat taught me about The Mothers' Lap... her children just adore their parents and treat them as their favourite best friends), taught me this powerful exercise called joining. She says that in the course of our day, we will have many situations where we forget to do the right thing or may have hurt our children with our actions or our words unknowingly... all these add up and create a distance between us and our children... and over time, this distance will slowly accumulate and create a up down relationship.. which upon reaching their teens and gaining independence, the way our children fight back would be to rebel....

So leh, to be a good parent, it is best to erase all the mistakes tat we make every single day by joining with our children before they sleep..and it is simply as simple as hugging them to sleep and continuing to hug them (even when they are already asleep) and energetically joining them till you feel the two of you wrapped in the warm embrace of intimacy...

If you practice enough and open your heart, you will also be able to feel understand what your children are feeling when you hug them and have a clue to what could be bugging them and what has been causing the non stop tantrums or crying or watever tat happened in the day...

Anyway, on this hug hug topic.. right after I finished writing this, my son giggled and showed me this.. he says this is a sign to tell me that he needs his hug of the day...

When I laughed and hugged him, he came back with another sign 10 minutes later.. wahahahah...

Now, his favourite game is to write "I love Hugs" on paper and paste on his shirt with a scotch tape... he says whenever I go near him, I have to hug him because that is his sign that he wants hugs... i think we hugged more than 50 times yday because of this and so as a result, he is in super good mood... everything I say.. he will do... wahahahahahahahhaahha...:)

So remember... the power of hugs:) Parents, make good use of this very positive tool:)

Fear Of New School

It just happens so that while we were going through an assessment book I bought for him, we came across this section that talked about going to a new school...

Inside this section, it includes a few exercises that are related to changing schools.. which is just perfect for Ace at this point as he will be going to a new school soon..

The first exercise required him to colour the feelings he has about going to a new school and Ace coloured the faces that said HAPPY, EXCITED but he also coloured FRIGHTENED.

I asked him what he is frightened about and he says that he is frightened that he will get bullied or that he will have no friends or that they would be no one who wants to play with him.

I told him that since he is such a likable boy whom everyone loves, I am sure he will make many friends. I trust that he will we well liked and well loved.

Ace The Dancing Photog

The other day, my friends arranged to chill out at Timbre at the artshouse.. as Timber is one of my fav chill out places, i was excited to go.. but because I had a previous appt with Teacher IVy and not enough time to bring Ace home, I decided to bring Ace along...

When we reached raffles place MRT, I realized tat Ace had never been to this part of Singapore before.. so I brought him around and explained to him what place is where and why this is called a central business district....


Then it was time to meet for gathering.. as I had given him previous instructions not to stick to Kerr gor gor as Kerr gor gor also needed to spend time with Yuria Jie Jie, Ace went to look for his fav playmate, Jon Jon, who did puzzles from the puzzle book together:)


Thanks to Xinrong and Xiaoling who also bought and gave him chocolates, he also had alot of fun EATING chocolates and sharing them:)

And then the very garang Kerr gor gor actually let Ace be the "Photographer of the day". He passed his $1000+ DSLR to Ace and Ace started taking photos of everyone and everything....



And somemore he very wusei okie.. he posed to take photo with his legs wide open and his stance is very professional looking okie! Everyone was so impressed and amused... Xinrong said he gives Ace full marks for his poise.. hahahahhaha

I asked Kerr gor gor not to let him play with the camera. "My heart pic pok pic pok when he goes around with the camera..." to which Kerr replied, "Aiyah, very cheap only lah.. thousand plus only.. you can afford it lah..."

Anyway, I heaved a sigh of relief when Ace stopped playing with the camera and went to Xinrong to play ipad and iphone with him...

After a while, the band came on and Ace started dancing to the music and then everyone was again amused.. even the other tables were looking at ace.. and I was say he was gyrating really well to the music lor.. Yeelin said when Ace grows up, he will probably find it easy to pick up girls as he gyrate and says, "want another drink?" when he is at some clubbing place.. hahaha..

Then leh, Ace got tired of tat and wanted to take out the camera to play with it again.. My heart pic pok pic pok again when I saw him gyrating with the camera in hand. I had to go and tell him that he has to choose either to take pics or to dance.. and try not to do both at the same time...

"I am photographer tonight! I will take photos!" he declared:) But still he continued to be the dancing photographer... really funny lor...


And then when we teased Simon and said we wanted to take a photo of his more "opened" state of mind... Ace exclaimed, "Let me help! Let me help!" and went to take many photos of Simon.. wahahahahaha..

After a while leh, he got tired of it and pulled Jon Jon out to play hide and seek with him.. but because he was afraid of losing his way, he made Jo follow him wherever he went to find Jon Jon...

After a while, he came back again to bug Kerr.. wahahahaha... and then Kerr exuded fatherly love and played with all the shi wan ge wei shen me character cut outs with him.. hahahahahha.... but after a while, he also wanted to play hide and seek with kerr... but Kerr did not want to...

So my very clever son went to bug the typically quiet and reserved Yuria and he actually managed to make both of them agree to play hide and seek with him.. he is good ah!

Anyway, after a whole day of play, Ace still says tat he had most fun playing hide and seek with Jon Jon.. I think it is because Jon always comes up with interesting places to hide so Ace is always thrown off the curve when he tries to find Jon...

Anyway, I think Ace realy misses his dad badly still.. cos during the whole few hours, he was basically sticking to all the men in the group while he basically left the women alone... anyway, I am very thankful to my friends and their support in taking care of Ace while I also had fun :D

Yeye's Birthday

As usual, even though it was Yeye's birthday, it still looked like Ace's birthday:)

I loved his very cute card... Ace says that that is Ace, Yeye, me, shu shu and nai nai... because Daddy is in dubai, so daddy is not in the taxi.. wahahahahaha:)

PS: Yeye is a taxi driver, tat is why the theme is a taxi theme on the card...

Teacher Ivy

When Ace's right brain training teacher, Teacher Ivy, heard tat Ace would be relocating, she suggested tat we meet up...

Anyway, she also helped me use her popular card to buy the SHi Wan Ge Wei Shen Me that I had wanted to buy Ace for his birthday... so we met up to collect the things and also for her to see Ace lor..

She told me she also bought a Kumon puzzle book for Ace and i was pleasantly surprised to find that I also got a present from her leh:)

Anyway, Ace is very excited lah... he wanted to play with the puzzle book immediately!

And while he was playing, a few children came and looked on and they asked if they can try and to my surprise, Ace, said, "Yes!" and let the little boy try.. too bad though that the little boy did not have enough patience and did not complete the whole puzzle..

Good Mood So Guai Lor

For some unknown reason, I caught a flu and was down and out for a few days...

When max called me, he told me he was also not feeling well... but he could tell I was in a more serious state than he is... I just literally had this heavy throbbing head for a few days and could do nothing but sleep... initially Max thought I might be pregnant but I told him dayima already came and left.,,

At this point, Ace realized that I was on the phone with Max and said he wanted to talk to Daddy.. his daddy asked him, "Why is mummy sick, why didn't you take good care of her?"

And my son replied, "Mummy everyday go out.. I got no chance to take care of her..." Hahahahaha

Anyway, Max asked Ace to take good care of me now that I am sick and true to his word, my son really took good care of me...

He will come and ask me how I am, he will come and hug me... and then when I said I was having a backache or a headache, he will give me a massage..

Yesterday, despite being sick, I had made a commitment to hold POVIA session... so I decided to try to rest as much as I can in the day and tahan as much as I can in the night... cos after I go dubai, I wouldnt have much chance to do these sessions...

Just before I left my house, my son told me that he missed me already and gave be a big long hug and a big big kiss.. he asked me to call him during my break and I said I will...

So during my break, I gave him a call... instead of his usual whiny self and instead of insisting tat i come home now or complaining about things, he just asked me when i am coming home.. I told him in one hour's time.. and he said, "Ok, bye bye.."

And then about 45 min later, he called me to ask me where I am and because he heard the background noise, he asked me, "Are you in the train?" So I told him I am already 15 min away from home and he said, "Ok, I wait for you ok? Bye bye..."

So it made me feel like instead of just wanting to look for him.. he is keeping good his word to his daddy by taking care of me.. cos his calls seemed just like spot checks to ensure I am okie onli.. hahahahahahah:P

The next day when I woke up, I asked him why he was so guai yesterday and did not whine on the phone.. I told him I like it very much..

His answer very power lor..

"心情好就乖啦..." (Mood is good so behave well lah)

So I asked him why he was in a good mood...

"erm..... I forgot already.." And he ran out of the room...

Funny lah, this boy...

Ace Gor Gor

Ace has been talking about meeting Phoebe and he finally got his wish fulfilled when we all finally found the time to have a belated birthday celebration with him.. Ganma Karen and Gandie Zhiguang bought him a Spy Gear handcuff (Ace declared there is NOTHING ELSE that he wants in the whole of Toys r Us) and brought him to Swensens for lunch...

So after that we walked around Tampines Mall and Ace got to play his gor gor role and push the pram around... As you can tell, he is VERY HAPPY ;)

I showed Max these photos and Max says it looks as if Ace is pushing the pram like it is a sports car... I reminded Max tat this WAS Ace's sports car... heheheheeheh..

Anyway, the other day, I asked Ace why he prefers to have didi and not meimei and he says it is because he already has a meimei, Phoebe.... so I asked him if his ganmeimei is enough as a meimei replacement, can I just ask ah yee to give birth to a di di and then i dun give birth anymore...

"Yes, I want Ah Yee to give birth to di di.. but after tat you must give birth okie? I will love them all very much and will take care of them like a gor gor..."

PS: A friend told me a few mths back that she dreamt tat i was pregnant... she just told me tat now, she had another dream tat I delivered and gave birth to a baby girl.. who looks exactly just like Ace.. only she had more hair.. and tat she was a girl.. she says mostly her good dreams will come true one.. hehehehe.. hopefully, her dream comes true soon:)

Ace's Birthday Extravaganza

Ace's birthday was like an extravaganza. Everyone felt Ace din had his daddy to celebrate for him and so they all wanted to celebrate for him...

SCHOOL
His birthday extravaganza started on fri afternoon in school Initially, we had wanted to do mac donalds party but it was both expensive and mafan since they now only encouraged people to do party at their designated outlets and even party takeaway also have to be from the particular outlets and the designated outlet in the east is in kallang or bedok resevior.. siao lor.. so far away... so in the end, I asked if he minds tat we do cake decoration and he did not mind.. on top of that, KP also passed me some decorations to be used so the cake looks much nicer... Okay, looks different.. the train still ended up looking like it was on a mess of colourful shit.. wahahahahahaha

again... Most important was tat everyone enjoyed it..:)



The chidren were huddled togehter all the time and it was difficult to get pictures...

(PS: TO be accurate, Tanya is just a fren.. cos is just a CRUSH... Ace likes her but did not tell her and we are not sure if she likes Ace. Hahahaha)

After tat I brought Ace to bedok point to play at the arcade as a birthday treat:)

As we were walking there, Ace asked me again why his daddy cannot be in Singapore to celebrate his birhtday for him. I promised him that when we go dubai, we will celebrate together but maybe not with a cake but with a muffin since the cakes there are not nice.

"Then you bring the things to make cake from Sinagpore to make there lah." He said and then I told him that I have never tired making cake before... so I might not be able to make it properly. He suddenly became very solemn, gave me a pat on my shoulder and told me, "Try your best.."

Wahahahahahaha!




And then I treated him to Moss Burger Garden Salad.. his fav...:P

Rich and Yang Celebration
Jez Ah Ma decided to bring her two girls out with Ace for dinner as Tashi jie jie was disapointed tat Ace did not recognize her when we met her at the MRT station tat day:) To my surprise, Ace and Oracle just started playing with a ball of paper!

Richie Ah Ye came along as well to join us and treated us to mac donalds drink.. so Ace thanked him and called him Richie GOr GOR.. Jez ah ma say very unfair.. why Richie is gor gor.. so from now on, we have decided that Ace will call Jez Meinu jie jie from now on....

Sushi With Annie Jie Jie
On our way to meet Annie, Ace cried as he was missing his dad and wondering why his dad cannot celebrate his birthday with him...

As his birthday treat was sushi.. he soon finished his food and started to pose for funny pics for Annie Jie Jie's camera.. wahahaha


After we finished the food,. we went to the toy fair to look for a present but Ace wanted spy gear.. whichc they did not have. so he requested tat we go over to Bugis to find.. so Annie actualy took MRT with us to Bugis to find Ace's perfect present:)

We found ths spy gear but I could not persuade Ace to buy the cheapo items.. he insisted on the more ex ones.. and couldnt decide betweeen two different sets.. one is a big gun.. amtoher is a briefcase tat can double up as a gun...

As he was wasting alot of time to decide, I asked him to close his eyes and then choose with his heart.. in the end he chose the briefcase:)

Jo, Jon and Karen
Jon JOn birthday was on 26th mah.. so we celebrated both birthdays together:) After Ace finished his dabaoed mac donald dinner (Jon Jon's treat) he asked where is his present.. They disturbed him and said it was somewhere else and Ace insisted tat he saw it in the car adn wanted to search the car.. wahahahaha.. guess his eyes are really sharp... Anyway, Jon used lots of scotchtape, thinking tat it will allow ace to spend 10 min to tear off the wrapping... but it got torn off in like 10 seconds!

He got a nerf gun from Jo, jon jon, steff and nick....


And he had so many questions about the gun and becuase Jon was familiar with guns, he could explain about the guns and how policemen will use it and what policemen did when they caught the bad guys etc... Ace listened attentively.. soaking in every detail.... and after dinner we went to have tea and then Jon Jon played non stop for almost 3 hrs with him while we girls just chill out and chat...
Ace said tat is the happiest celebration he had because he really enjoyed playing with Jon JOn..

But interestingly, the next day hor, when i had to ship a box of toys over, Ace wanted to ship his new toy gun over.. when I asked him why, I found out he was afraid the police will confiscate his gun if he brought it over in his bag.. wahahahahahah.. cos the last time the police almost kept his toy gun when we went over to dubai as gun like things are not allowed in carry on baggage..

Mac Breakfast with Ah Yee And Net Net


Ah yee and Net Net brought Ace to eat mac donalds breakfast to celebrate with him and we went present shopping after tat...

After walking around for a long time, Ace finally found a present he liked but it was quite ex but in the end, Ah Yee said OK buy for him:) So leh, he now has a Lego City Police set.. However, he only fixed the policeman's motor, hat and car.. after tat.. everything else was fixed by ME:( My eyes nearly popped out of my sockets after I finished fixing the whole thing:)



The intresting thing is he remembered tat Jon Jon said you had to handcuff the suspect at the back instead of in the front and tat was wat he did.. wahahaha..
