Malacca Family Trip Dec 2015- Day 2

Rise and shine on day 2 of our trip!:)

We decided today we will do hotel breakfast because Ace loves BUFFETS :) But leh, sadly the food was not good lor.. the porridge.. cold one..  ;( sianz...

But Ace is happy with his pancakes and hashbrown breakfast.... see, he even made this smiley face to show how happy he is...

I was so curious when I found chicken soup with egg as one of the breakfast items and took a bowl to try... erm... another sad story... no taste plus is cold! Dun they understand hot food should be hot? Cold liao where got nice???

Ace and his new CREATION :)

Nice picture at the breakfast place..

Anyway, Ace kept talking about the Garden Swiss Hotel that he stayed at when he came with his school and so we decided to go there  and see see look look since walking distance and we found a TANGS there.. so go shopping lor:)

Ace was so tickled by this tshirt that says "FART LOADING 85%.... PLEASE WAIT".. and we bought it for him in the end:) hahaha..

Initially he black face one cos here no toys and he cannot buy things... then saw tshirt to buy liao happy liao.. hahahahah...

Saw alot of snoopy stuff and took photo...

Chanced upon Sakae Sushi and the cute froggie santas:)

Saw this bubble tea place called CHATIME but hor.. it just reminded me of a CHATIME restaurant in Dubai that sells indian food:) hahahahaha

Took a picture of this cos i tot it looked very cute:)

Then we tried to walk back to Jonker Street again... walked past all the old old shops tat looked like they stayed in the 70s.. eg this dental clinic...

 Postbox looks so cute:)

Finally can get a close up picture of the fountain..

A couple out here taking their wedding shots... poor bride.. it was so warm lor...

Took the chance to take a few more photos of those nicely decorated trishaws...

Ace thought of buying this since he was born in year of the chicken:)

I saw this and asked the aunty selling things wat this is... she said it is a decorative thing that malays like to buy to decorate their house.. can anyone tell me if there is any significance to this thing? Cos aunty is Chinese and that is all she knows.. she dunno significance also..

 Squealing chicken!:)

Jia jia take picture of Max.. actually is want to take pics of the Trishaw:) hhahaa

 Sultan's waterwheel...

The buildings here not only have drawings but have chinese text on them.. but I am too far away to tell you what they say exactly..

Ace pretending to be VIKING KING.. Check out all the wooden guns and what not he bought..

We walked all the way up to the museum and art centre area this time round cos we were trying to explore the area...
Ace said he wanted a drink and Max too.. I thought we will stop here for a drink but the boys continued to walk on...

This tall tower is the type that can rise up in the air so you can have a 360 degree view of the city.. But we are happy to just jalan jalan in Jonker STreet lah:)

Can you tell what this is?

It is actually a museum but since Ace already visited before with his school.. we skipped:)

Then we went to the art centre and walked round and round.. that place sold more or less the same things.. tshirts.. bags.. etc... found nothing to buy and so we made our way back...

And then we saw this girl wearing this and walking under the hot midday sun.. she was pespiring like crazy and me and Max looked at each other and tried hard not to luff.. hahaha...  She din look like she is working in a Jap restaurant there.. she looked like a Japanese tourist.. cos that pink strap was her camera... Maybe she thought summer temp here is like summer in Japan.. sorry babe.. Melaka is unfortunately hot and humid...

Walked past hard rock and saw this uncle posing. how he made his whole face glitter I dunno...

Jonker gallery in the day.. We tried to go into the shops but they also all sell the same things.. but at least got aircon.

After shopping, we decided to go for a short break in te 1673 cafe:)

Ace bought more toys! Cos his dad gave him 100RM for him to spend and he bought some fake lego..

He took out his list to tick tick tick...

Eventually we did almost all.. actually everything except the boat ride lah.. maybe next time we come we can do tat lah..

We all have diff ideas about what is a great COOL DOWN TREAT:)

Excuse me.. this is me on a bad nose day :( Nose was running and I was tired..

I wondered if these windows are made in the  1600s?

Then we walk walk walk. and tired liao and Max asked me if I wanted to try the chicken rice there since it is the popular thing there... he said he can eat the rice and the veg lah... so we decided to go and try the famous chicken ball rice...

Another building with old charm.. and even those spiral stairs like those buildings in singapore in Chinatown...

The chicken rice balls tat are size of ping pong balls..

We ordered quarter chicken but so much the serving.. I had to finish by myself.. faintz..

was wondering why this place had a sign tat said 金鸡下蛋 and then we saw someone go in to pour rice into a machine and then we understood.. this is the machine tat made the chicken rice balls.

Max says though he prefers rice.. the balls.. after being compressed dun taste the same as rice..he prefers fluffy rice...

Famous sign written by famous gourmet.. Cai Lan...

F

Saw someone selling black black drink.. and black black fruits..

Ace told me these are roasted coconuts...But google says they are BLACK COCONUTS known to be sweeter than normal ones..

ALl the temples we passed on the first night look different in the day time:) haha..

Saw lots of nice cafes in Jonker Street.. too bad no time and stomach to try all of them out:)

 Saw a mini garden....

So much so for a world heritage park cos just a few trees and few bronze statues:)

I dun quite understand why there is a spiderman in the middle of a shop tat sells female clothes:) hahaha.. maybe brings luck?

Then we saw ding ding tang... and asked Ace if he wanted to try.. bought him a packet to try and told him it is a snack we ate often during our childhood...

Then we saw an interesting stall that stopped us in our tracks.. it was roasted quail eggs... The gor gor will use a special scissors (which one side had a blade and the other side is a circle like a donut like tat to crack open the egg and pour the mixture into the grill which is a grill with lots of holes and a space to put a satay stick...

Then have to turn the eggs over so that the middle part yolk also will be cooked..

 Then yo add sauce:)

We ordered bbq sauce with mayo and ketchup with mayo.. two flavours...

Truth to be told, it tasted.. well... like fried egg with mayo and the various sauce lah.. not fantastic:) It is just CUTE.. and we found out that Ace has fallen in love with BBQ sauce and end up we had to take his ketchup stick cos he wanted the BBQ sauce one instead...

 Black charcoal bakes! LOVESSSSSS....

 Very true!:)

We walked and walked and walked to I think the edge of the Jonker Walk area liao.. so we uturn back :)

Saw these cute ice creams but though heart is willing.. stomach is weak after a quarter chicken..

Too bad we din have chance to try this.. But actually i think I know how to make also.. use oreo for soil lah:) hahahaha..

Walked past an antique shop and Max said to take photo to show our fren who loves old gramaphone players and old telephones... the amazing thing is from the small photo we sent him, he could tell us which item is fake, which is common and which is from where... 果然是高手!

Saw these lovely mats... and they reminded me of those that my mum used to have when I was a little kid...

Then saw this interesting place and went in to take a look.. it is a MAMEE cafe:)

Even the signs are MAMEE:) hahaha

We later realized this is one of the cafes our friend, Selyn, recomended us that has doraemon toilet.. darn.. too late to realize tat... should have borrowed their toilet.. ahahah:)

 Street art

Took this pic cos this orang utan looks cute:)

Walked past Hard Rock and Max suggested we go in for a drink...

That is Ace literally "crawling" up the staircase because he says "My hydraulics are down..." He means he leg pain lah... and he said he needed to "rest my hydraulics and get them fixed..."

Saw this eminem outfit and we had a discussion about how old or young eminem is.. Ace seems to think just because he knows eminem, he must be very young... But I think otherwise cos i told him I know him too..  and I guessed Eminem already in his 40s and Ace insisted he is in his early 30s... Mr Google told us I was right! hahahahha

 Ace resting his hydraulics..

Max saying Ace is so LOUSY..

Ace saying that his dad is going bonkers;) hahaha

I had a frozen magarhita... ah... heavenly!:)

Max had 1 for 1 beer....

Then we found out Ace had one for one for his coke too! Cannot lah.. sugar overload!!! so far I finished my drink, i poured some of his coke over to mine.. the drink just looks more atas inside the magarita glass:) hahaahha

Since we already visited.. we decided we will go back hotel.. rest a little and drive out elsewhere for dinner...

 Walking back to our hotel..

Along the riverside..so many nice, arty farty, quaint places to take photos of...

 These antique chairs are unreal...

We wish we could have this at home actually.. but I guess cos it is not very practical.. likely we cant..

Was taking this photo.. when Max asked me if I realized someone was playing guitar by himself by the river...

Walked past alot of motels and hostels with interesting decor..

Can you see what is wrong with this pic?

Cant believe that there is someone who calls himself Mr Billion....

These antiques were common in the 70s.. I wonder how this shop survives now...

Tried to take a pic of the street to what it looks like..

That is Max explaining to Ace why this is called the 5 foot way cos you can only take 5 steps... But Max's feet are too big...

But Ace's feet also too large to take 5 steps.... haahha

Max excited to buy a new clock for our house... but leh, all these gu kuan shop sell one i think not nice enough for Max;) ahahahah

Ace has a laundry shop here!:)

The famous penang chicken rice is everywhere.... even have another branch near our hotel..

Max boh liao.. said this looked like he is radiating with light while meditating.. actually just a design inside our hotel lift...

 Ace's steals for the day!:)

Ace got started on his lego...

 While his dad watched TV...

After we rested, we drove out to another hotel for a meal.. Max says got live music.. I saw the lighted trishaws but this was the best picture I could take of them in a moving car...

I wondered aloud why cannot bring mangosteens... Ace said.. "Maybe it is cos like you told me. the mangoesteen juice will stain cloth and stain their carpet and bedsheets..."

When we arrived, they told u cos we not dressed properly.. can only sit outside and eat finger foods.. cannot eat dinner inside...

View from the top of the hotel...

The place very dark and they provided light for you to view the menu:) hahaha

 Our finger foods and drinks...

Alas, the band not very good leh... so we left after awhile...

And then we went shopping around...

Time to go and chanced upon this while searching for the car park.. hahha... so cute right:)

Reached hotel liao.. felt hungry leh.. so went out for supper:)

Our kind of supper.. roti prata:)

And Bee Hoo Mee Goreng:)

And that was the end of the day 2 of our trip:)
