iPhone Down!

Ace was totally heart broken when he discovered that his iphone 5S's screen popped out...

It was a little popped out when I confiscated his phone the other day but I tot the bouncy feel was due to some new iphone technology I was not aware about... but on his way to tuition, the screen totally popped out and he was so sad when he called Max to tell him. His tuition teacher gave him a plastic bag to put all the parts together and he was totally depressed that his phone was broken...(though technically, it was still in working condition cos the screen worked.. just tat it popped out of place..)

I did some research and found out that if we send in for servicing, they will replace the phone. However, as this phone is second hand and because a phone replacement would mean that Ace would lose EVERYTHING (as his phone was set up using Max's apple account) and in the end, we decided that we will go Ah Beng shop to fix it...

Max says it was just as well since it was exam period.. then he can concentrate on his studies:) hahahaa.. But since we read that there is a good shop in Golden Mile, we decided to have dinner there and get it fixed at the same time.

Alas, the shop that we wanted to go to was closed when we visited after dinner so we walked around and saw this young man with a booth and we asked him how much it would cost to fix this.

He said the problem is a bloated battery and then well versed in the artful skill of persuasion through A,B, C (thanks WBG, thanks George!:) hahaha), I asked the young man what would cause this issue.

To those who do not know wat is ABC, it means getting someone else.. the A (who is usually expert in a particular area) to do the talking for you... you just need to be the B-Bridge to ask the correct questions so that C- Customer can find the answer to all their queries. This is useful because sometimes when people are close to you, they will not listen to what you have to say. THe same thing.... coming out of your mouth and coming out of an expert's mouth just sounds DIFFERENT! hahahaha

I actually researched prior to this and found out it is a common iphone 5 problem for the battery (that is why they willing to replace your phone for you)...

But the Gorgor gamely replied... "Well, this happens to your battery if you keep charging it for no good reason.... if you charge and use it at the same time...."

Wah.. i love this guy man! Cos these are things we told Ace NOT to do but he would not listen to us.

To replace the battery costs $40.....

The bloated battery...

Anyway, after replacing the battery, the screen was still somewhat lose.. turns out the glue is no longer working and holding it together properly so have to change the whole skirting if we want it to sit properly.. which was another $40..... so Max said to change it and asked Ace to pay for half of it since it is his phone and he is responsible for keeping the phone in good shape...

Ace was soooooooooooooooooooooooo happy to get it fixed and was more than happy to pay the $40 to get his phone back to its pristine condition:)

But leh, we really should have fixed the phone AFTER his exams.. cos right after, I made him promise for his major papers to stop using the phone for the next four days.. but our good fren promised and did NOT keep his promise...

I told him I htink he is addicted to his phone and so to help him break his addiction, I will take away his phone for 21 days... and he said OK and promptly handed the phone to me... sigh... If we had known, we would have fixed it only AFTER his exams...
