Celebration!
hahahahaha...
Whenever Ace is away from home for long periods... it means we can catch up on our dating.. But of cos, now we date more regularly with our weekly or bi-weekly bfast dates now that we are back in Singapore :)
Still, Max suggested that we go to our fav champagne brunch again and so we did:)
Tea set for two... I had to try everything first to ensure it is vegeterian and tell Max whether he can or cannot eat:)
Max's favorite curry pok..
We were saying next time can bring Ace too cos they have quite alot of dessert and there is ice cream available!:)
I suggested taking a wefie and Max says have to take one more where we can show off our watches) hahahha... his usual style.. But kenna cut off anyway! hahahahahah
This lemon meringue tart was delicious! My god! The sourish and zesty lemon totally made the sugar in the meringue super nice:)
THis one is we very boh liao.. tried to take MOVING picture with our cameras and Max hao lian that his iphone is better than my samsung...
Sorry dear, my Samsung auto converts it into gif... SO COOL right?:P hahahhaaha.... iPhone one can only view the movement in iphone lor...
But poor Max had to work while having fun... reply email lah, call this person and call that person lah...
Strangely, though this time we had breakfast before we came, we were full but not overtly so:)
We decided we will go jalan jalan... and first I brought Max to see the Alive But Without Breath exhibition and found out tat some of the works are already sold! Max's favourite was the one with 3D frogs....
Then we went shopping to see if we can find a replacement for his current office bag cos the zip koyak already... he very mafan one.... awhile say is too big, to heavy, color not nice, not enough pockets.. so we din buy ANYTHING.. But I made him pose with this tie cos we both think Ace will love this:)
Just the right kind of beer glass for Max:)
Beautiful wine breather at CK Tangs:)
These cameras are so cute... and they really work too!:)
Max decided that we should round two.... so we made our way to Acid Bar along Emerald Hill area...
They have kickass LIVE singers. The night before, we went to Timbre at Fort Canning for dinner but were sorely disappointed... Food now is so so... music also so so... We decided we will come here in future:)
I told max this place is for young pple.. if you look around, 80% of the patrons of this place were wearing sneakers!:)
Happy hour! I ordered Strawberry Margarita and Max ordered a Martini..
Max asked me to turn around to look and we saw the bartender carving roses out of strawberries.... and then he looked at the bartender and had a "moment" where he used his eyes to ask "why my wife's drink dun have"? and then.. bartender gave it to me:)
I noticed that the light bulb in the place all had different filament designs so attempted to take photos of them:) Swee boh?
After tat, we actually felt hungry lor!:) Hahaahahahaha.... so we went to Geylang to eat Teochew Porridge before heading home:)
Anyway, night before we went Ace away to camp ,we saw this pair of shoes in the lift.. so scary lor.. next day morning, it was still there!
Anyway, a little bit about Ace's camp experience here...
That's him all decked out in his camp gear and preparing to go to school...
Ace really was looking forward to the camp and the night before, he asked if his dad can send him to the camp... so the poor father who was sleeping very "early" the night before woke at 6am after a short nap to send him over...
Also, he made his dad angry the night before and his crying is mostly cos he is feeling sorry..than he is going to miss us:) haahahhaa...
But the three days two nights he was away, I find myself thinking and wondering what he might be doing at that moment I thought about him and wondering if he was having fun...
Surprisingly, his dad missed him a tad more... on our way home after our date.... he said he almost wanted to turn around to ask Ace "So you know what you have to do when you reach home? Bath... and then??" Hahahahahahahhahaha.... Later when I told other people about it, Max insisted that he was just humouring me..... Ya right!:) hahahaha
And then it was time to pick Ace up and I asked if Max can go with him to fetch him home cos I was thinking his camp stuff is all so heavy..
But as I did not tell Ace I was going to fetch him, I was wondering whether we will catch him...
Then it was as if he was going to school on the first time all over again when I stood by the gate and waited for Ace.. Lucky for me, Ace saw me and waved to me when he was coming down the stairs in the school building.... So at least I knew he knows I am here...
When he got into the car, he declared that he is super tired and started talking about the camp....
The Food Sucks
Most of the time, Vegetarian food tastes much better than normal food one... but Ace says this time, it sucked.... and it sucks so badly he did not really finish his breakfast today:) hahaha... Plus of cos I think he was oversold cos some other people with siblings who had gone to the same camp told them they will be served ice cream and they DID NOT get any ice cream at all....
Plus, they are only given half a glass of juice with every meal... perhaps it is to encourage the to drink plain water bah;) Ace says some of the people dun drink barley cos once they gave barley... and so he drink all the barley from the people who dun like barley:) hahahaha...
Slept Very Little
Ace complained to me that he did not rest well during the nights. Mainly because their campsite was near Changi airport and so the planes will fly past. He says a typical night will be everyone chatting away so he can barely sleep. Finally, everyone grew quiet and just as they were about to fall asleep, the sound of the aeroplane flying past will make everyone excited and there will be sounds of chatter again.. so he kept falling in and out of sleep...
Enjoyed the High Elements Most
To my surprise, Ace who has a fear of heights since young, actually mentioned that he enjoyed the high elements section the most
He says many of his friends when on land will say things like.. "Aiyah, so easy..." And then take forever when it is really their turn. One friend told him that the high elements is easy peasy but when they went up, his friend kept asking him to go first but as they had to be tied to the safety harness and so they had to go in the order they were arranged already. And so his friend had to take some time to gather his courage...
Ace said he was one of the fastest to finish the whole thing and it was really wobbly... but he is more confident and requested to go to the flying fox thingy at Bedok Reservior:)
Self Made Raft Cannot Make It
Ace says in the end, all the kayak they made cannot pass and did not even get to be tested out in water:) hahaha.. But he proudly told me that he really tied things very tightly such that they took half an hour to untie that part he did.. I dunno how true that is but I would think typing up plastic barrels to make a raft requires skill and strength...
All in all, he really enjoyed himself during the camp and I am really happy :)
