I had a major present in the year 2019~
I was lazing around in 1 Jan and on the 2nd, bright and early, I was making my way to office and just when I was about to reach office, I missed a step and fell.
THere was suddenly a group of people gathering around me... one of them was my colleague who asked if I was ok.. But because I was so embarrassed, I said I was ok and quickly got up and hobbled to office despite the pain.
When I sat down... my colleague Elisa called me, when I picked up the call, I was suddenly dizzy and had to rest a while... she said I should go and see a doctor.. I felt I must have twisted my ankle.. but I was thinking.. already here.. just finish my work and go during lunch..
Tashi, who was working in my office temporarily came to accompany me to the doctor.. she kept giggling while I was hobbling away to the Chinese sinseh because she said I looked like a penguin... Sigh, youngesters these days have no compassion...
Anyway, finally saw a sinseh and he refused to help me tuina.. he said that because I fell at 8.30 and by 12 noon when I saw him, my leg is too swollen.. he suspects I have a fracture and asked me to go and see doctor and do x ray... Where I was working there was no xray available...
I asked Tashi to go have her lunch and assured her that I will sort it out. So I found a bench, sat down and googled for the nearest xray while I formed a plan in my mind. Never have i felt more alone and never have I felt the full weight of deciding to divorce so deeply... cos there was just no one I could call to come fetch me see a doctor...
BUT I told myself whatever my ex husband can do.. money can do too.. I just need ot wave a cab to take me there.. I decided in the end to go to polyclinic in a cab.. alas when I arrived, I had to wait an hour plus to see dr.. so i hobbled downstairs for tea.
While I was waiting for a doctor, I called Ace to ask where he was. I asked that he come meet me after he is done with his friends in bedok interchange because I was thinking of how heavy my laptop is and how it was tough to hobble around with a laptop bag.. though I was also aware Ace has a heavy schoolbag too...
In the end, I hobbled to doctor, hobbled to one level up to take xray ($@(*%&$(*&%*&#$ why was the xray room furthest away from the lift???!!!) and hobbled back to see doctor again. Doctor said it is too late and that I had to come back the next day for review.

So I went home. I thought since I already walked so much today.. might as well take bus. .. but it was just too tempting when I saw a taxi... I went on the taxi.. and told uncle i contemplated taking a bus.. the uncle laughed and chided me gently.. "小妹，这种钱给uncle赚一点啦。上到这样还搭什么bus?" And he said I should take better care of myself... But i was just thinking how much more money I have to spend becos of this leg lor...
Anyway, I had to remove the wrap that sinseh wrap for me for x ray... so leh.. my leg went home naked..
So i just wrapped the extra dressing that the sinseh asked me to wrap for one day..
I couldnt be MORE WRONG
The very next day, it was dam swollen and super painful. I am desperate and had to go to doctor for sure so I decided to guai guai go and collect my xray .... but it was so painful I even had problem walking and I also didnt seem to have suitable shoe to wear cos my leg was so swollen...
At this moment, my angel called!
My friend Jez happened to call and ask how is my leg. I told her what happened and she said she happened to be on leave and happened to be driving and so she suggested that she come pick me!
SHe picked me, we went to take number to see doctor, went to eat lunch and then went back to see doctor, doctor sent me to A&E because they didnt have the facilities to cast me especially since ther was a confirmed crack at the side of the foot of my right leg.

By the time my leg was casted, it was already 12 hours later! I dont know how I would have done it without Jez! Really thankful to have a friend like her!
Anyway, my friend KP passed me her crutches for use...
Next day my colleague also came to visit me at my mum's house.. hahaha
Two weeks later when i changed to a shorter cast.. it was even more apparent!
My silly sister actually said that she will not walk for two weeks if it can make her leg slimmer..
NOt worth it lor... you have no idea how many months it took for my muscles to gain back its normal strength... till a year later, my right leg was still weaker than the left lor.
Whenever people asked why i fall i also dun dare to tell them it was because I was not paying attention and did not see the mild slope in front of me... I always tell them cos a handsome man walked past me and I lost my focus for a moment and fell.
ALAS.. no handsome man. Would have been nice if there were one who walked past and saved me like my superhero.. hahahahahah...
