Missing Dubai Food

Ever since we returned to Singapore, I have not been tempted to cook much.

Mainly, it is because I have a really tiny kitchen now that makes all sorts of preparation difficult. My kitchen is so small that when I am inside, no one else can come in. My sis visited me the other day and couldnt even sit inside to chat with me as I cooked:) haha...

But every now and then, inspiration hits me and I try to do those tat require minimum preparation with the limited space i have..

Presenting.... Kimchi Fried Rice:) I love it!:)

Japanese curry rice.....

Korean egg roll with rice.... :) I finally made some for Max and he finally gets to taste this delish meal!:)

Inspired by the egg sushi roll we had in ichiban sushi... I made this for Ace. I love my japanese egg pan.. thanks to KP for encouraging me to buy it:) Max actually thought this is a picture of the egg role we ate the other day till Ace pointed out... "This one is not professional one lah.. see, got rice on top of the seaweed one.." Wahahaha.. dun HIAM okie.. got food to eat is lucky liao!!!:)

Then I also made chilli crab pasta.. vegeterian one.. Ace says it is VERY GOOD!:) I used veg prawn to replace the crab stick. I am thinking of activating the oven to do oven baked chilli crab pasta...

While we are on the topic of food.. we have been searching for new places to eat and found this Thai place tat reminded us of our fav thai place in Dubai called Papa Junior.. even the decor also look alike lor!:)

However, shortly after we visited, someone else took over the place. Food is still not bad but the feel of it is different liao lah...

And the most ironical thing is that since we have returned, we have been searching for decent nasi padang. While we were in Dubai, whenever we missed SGP food, we will go eat nasi padang at Betawi or Dipor Kita near our house in Dubai. We actually did that pretty often and will do it like at least once a week. Ace started out eating noodles ad eventually learnt how to appreciate curry and eat rice with us:) wahahahah...

Since we have returned home, we have been searching for good nasi padang. Strangely I associate it with dubai now and after searching high and low, we finally found one we really like which has a taste close to the ones we had in Dubai... it is a stall in a coffeeshop near Ace's school. But leh, the aunty very good business one lor.. only do morning business... after 12 noon you go, sold out liao they will close shop one.. so now whenever we have a chance to brunch, we will go there...

Alas, Ace no longer eats that with us... cos the kopitiam has his favorite CHEE CHEONG FUN!:) wahahahaaha...
