Max's 39th Birthday

We celebrated Max's birthday together with mine at Yeye Nainai's house with a delicious chocolate cake and Nainai's kickass laksa!

Max of cos got the vegeterian version minus all the seafoods..

And then it is time to do cake cutting...

Followed by ang pow presentation ceremony.. hahaha:)

I think the happiest person tat day though is Yeye... cos leh, somehow.. maybe because we havent visited in quite a while, and maybe becos I gave Ace a prep talk about how and why he should spend time with the elders when he sees them... just 3-5 min each elder to talk and show care... Ace actually suddenly stop playing games in the bedroom and asked Yeye to go play shooting game with him in the bedroom..

When yeye got tired, both of the lay down on their respective beds and started chatting about everything under the stars.. I reminded Ace tat this is probably the highlight of Yeye's entire week and said he did well and encouraged him to do it again.. and even with Nainai, Popo, Gongong and Zeng Popo...

Ace made a card for me for my birthday. For daddy,, he had a special surprise.. he tried to figure out the notes for happy birthday and practiced to give this performance..:)

Anyway, our family celebrated by visiting some new brewery in Changi Village called Little Island Brewery....

Ace was so excited cos you can pour urself drinks and you pay for the quantity you pour...

They took out these lamp shade.... and I cannot help but think this looks familiar....

Max noticed I was trying to take a picture to make a point...

So he obliged by going close.. hahahha:)

We ordered the favorite cheese.... and it said vegeterian but came with ham.. dunno why.. so the non vegeterian of the family.. ME... ate the ham lor:)

You get the idea lah.. not much food for vegeterians here. hahaha:)

I ordered fish and chips and they only left with very small piece of fish... look very sad right... so they came and said they were sorry and said they will make up for it... they made up with tea, free refills and also a free cake to sing song for birthday boy!:)

Ace was doing some stunt and his dad says if he can do a certain stunt, he will give him $2.. and so Ace did!:)

I told Ace that we are at the place where his dad asked me to be his girlfriend and so we tried to revisit the place and find THAT TREE where we were seated and Max asked me the "do you want to go steady" question:)

But it has been 13 years and the whole place looks totally different from my memory!

Saw a cat while strolling and Max went to sayang the cat... And that made me think of our pet, Woofy...

When me and Max were dating, we kept a kitten as a pet for a few days.. till his mum discovered. hahaha.. it was a black kitten with white parts on the legs and part of the leg looks like it is wearing a boot.. very cute one:) But it tried to climb on Max's bed which upset Max and also his mum did not like animals and she heard him meowing.. so he had to go...

Ace was afraid to touch the cat so Max taught him where to stroke to make the cat happy ;)

I am not sure.. but this could be THE TREE...

Could be the tree where Max asked if I will like to be his girlfriend and I said YES:) hahahaha

We walked around the park and saw this old time playground.. Max says if Ace can climb all the way to the top, he earns $2.. and off Ace goes..

Money has a way of making Ace forget his fears:) hahahaha

Then we went to play with the swing.. Ace did not know how to make the swing go higher despite our tips... I think also he was afraid.. so he was giggling most of the time...

I asked him later if he was giggling cos he was frightened and he said YES.. hahaha
