Swimming!

 For this semester, we sent Ace for extra lessons again. It is much more expensive but there are only four people in his class:) So I am happy to announce that Ace has taken one more step forward in swimming.. he is finally not afraid to JUMP into the pool:)

And he has found it to be really fun.. but hor I dunno why he likes to jump like a starfish into the pool with his legs opened wide.. doesnt his nuts feel painful?:P wahahahaha...

 There is a term break in between and so for two weeks, Ace will not have swimming lessons.. so we decided to visit F as her apartment has got a swimming pool...

But of course, not before we have bfast at Ace's favourite Mc D..

 Happy to see Ace go into the pool and swim around happily without his board.. and he can even track water! My god, finally! After how many years of swimming lessons... I feel so proud of him.. cos it took such a long while for him to overcome his fear of water.. tat he has exhibited since he was 4 months old...

From 4 mths to 4 years old, he was afraid of the water and would cry even if we carry him and walk into the pool.. he is only happy and feels safe at the steps at the edge of the pool...

Then 4-5 years old, we sent him for swimming lessons and he overcame his fear enough to swim with a board... but die also dun want to jump into the pool... I tried persuasion, reward, prep talks... NOTHING WORKED.. he just REFUSED to do it...

6-7 years old.. had swimming lessons twice a week in school and finally learnt how to let go of his board... But he is still inconfident when he is in the deep end of the pool and still refuses to jump into the pool..

And a few months shy of turning 8, he finally got the courage to jump in:)  Very very very happy lor!

 Fishy fishy.. having fun:)

I guess if we don't find an apartment with a pool, we are likely to visit F often during the weeks with no swimming lessons:) wahahaha

And there are no weekly horse races at all as buah beh is not allowed here...

So why did they build the very big and beautiful Meydan Horse Racetrack you ask?

Well, that is because every year, there is some sort of charity horse race called Dubai World Cup... it is a big event in Dubai. Horses will race as a competition against each other. Champion horse will win prizes/cash..

Just so there is audience participation, you can guess which horse will win and if you guess correctly, you get a chance to enter a lucky draw to win some prizes:)

I did not know that if you went to the Dubai World Cup, gotto dress up.. so serious one lor.. till I read that there is a Millinery Exhibition in the shopping mall near my place... in simple english, it is a hats and headgear exhibition for people who want to go to the event:)

I thought it is quite interesting and decided to go take a look lor:)

Hahaha.. If I EVER do get invited, I think I just need to wear my cheapo MADE IN CHINA BIG FLOWER HAIRBAND!:)

Saw these ladies with their pretty hats and JUST had to take a picture with them! Alas, it was a no make up, dark eye rings and bad hair day for me.. wahahahhaha:)

I think the purpose of the exhibition is for people to buy these expensive hats. I wonder what people do to them after the event. If you wore these hats normally, people will most certainly think you are AH XIAO lor:) wahahahah

The Worst Jap Food EVER!

 Max's burder is now officially OPENED!

But it din look very nice and was very crowded.. so we decided to eat something else for dinner.. looked around for a long time...

Somehow we wandered along and Max suggested that we try Yo! Sushi.. that Ace always wanted to try because his friend in school told him it is VERY GOOD... "Let him si xin lah..." max said...

 Firstly.. the meal is quite ex lor..

 A plate of few peas is already $6 SING!

 Only the tea is sort of special plum tea...

 Strange veggie and egg cucumber and avacado sushi...

 Egg sushi not bad...

 The small bowl of noodles is super ex... n not tasty.. the curry rice is another sad story...

 Max very DL tat we kenna cheated...

 Bill came out to about $150 dirhams..w hich is something like $50 sing lor..  Really kanasai..


Eat liao so tak shiok tat we decided we will shop around and go eat something else...

 Chocolate pie for Ace...

 And some kitch top....

 But eat too meals is a little too full.. till Max tummy big big...

Hahahaha....

And the total bill for this meal and tat came up to be the same as if we had gone and eaten good quality jap food at Hyatt Hotel lor!:) wahahahaha

Moral of the story, NEVER eat any jap food here in Dubai unless it is the expensive type.. if not, you will likey be eating just Filipenese food:) I declare Yo! Sushi, the worst sushi ever! As bad as the one tat we ate at Dubai Mall food court!
