Hard Rock Staycation With Ace

 Many thanks to Aunty Wendeline who gifted me and Ace a staycation so we may spend some time together...

SHe was so nice lor.. came all the way to check in with us and got us a nice room in Hard Rock Hotel. I thought maybe can go pool or wat.. BUT my boy.. just wants the aircon and the cartoon network... its like he never grew up! Hahahahahaha

 Watching cartoon, dancing and lying in bed... his favorite things to do...

 As food is scarce here, we actually brought along some snacks and even instant noodles.. just checked in hungry boy say he hungry liao.. hahahah

 Come all the way here.. of cos cannot just eat instant noodles.. have to eat at our favorite Chillis!

 After dinner, went to Candylicious to walk walk and i told him iwill buy him two candy..

 Then of cos is go home to watch tv and zzzz.

Chua Family's Mother's Day Celebration

It's official...

That I am finally not part of the Chua family.. .not in name and not even  in person... I am.. I don't know what I am... Erm... Maybe a guardian of their eldest grandson? hahahah.

Anyway, this is the start of the many Chua family activities that I DID NOT attend.

It had to happen somehow I guess. They asked me I was not free and then eventually, they didnt ask me anymore. Maybe because it is awkward for Max.. maybe it is really awkward for everyone...

Initially I must say I felt a little upset, a little lost... a little sad... when I am reminded of how I did not only lose my husband... I actually lost an entire family..

BUT... as time went on, I realized, I was just being silly. Max's mum was a dear and still always remembered to ask Ace to bring food back for me if she cooked something she knew I liked. She would call me every few mths to check on me and ask if I was ok and ask how i was.

While it is true we are no longer family in name... the bond we had built will never really be gone just like tat even if things are a little awkward at this moment.

I still think that one day when me and Max are happily attached or maybe even happily married, we will eventually get to a point where we can all meet up and gather freely... after all, we were best friends for more than 10 years! :)

But of course, this is my fantasy. If it doesnt happen, as long as we are all happy, it is fine as well :)

So I decided to cut my hair short

BUT... I reached the salon too late and Leslie said he cannot have enough time to do more so chop a little bit off first... so I also have chance to get used to it...

Go And Die

Today my sister messaged me and told me that it seems Ace was very upset at his quibble with his cousin the day before.

The two boys were playing and suddenly started irritating each other and so they started saying nasty things. Cay had just learnt the phrase "Go and die..." in school and so in bid to "win" the verbal war, he shoot out the best one he could- "You go and die!"

The young one leh... don't really understand what it means to ask people to go and die but knew enough that it was something nasty... and he just wanted to win the verbal war...

The older one leh.... don;t understand that the young one is too young to understand the meanings associated with this new phrase he learnt and he took it very personally and was really quite upset...

He was suitably upset to say he never wanted to play with Cay again... because "YOu want me to die ah.. you are so evil! You want me to die..." And he ooked so upset till he almost looked like he was about to cry.

And then the next day we found this in his WA status... LOL

Lucky my sis is understanding Ah Yee and boh chup when it comes to these things.. tsk tsk tsk.. called his own cousin "fucker"...

Anyway, family no overnight feud lah.. after a few days, forget liao, start to want to play together liao.. LOL

Playing With The Neighbours

As we will be moving out of our bedok reservior home in 2 months... I think one of the things that Ace will miss most will be playing with his neighbour friends. Most of them he made either in school or during swimming class.

So in the very last months we spend there, he has been making playdates with them.

On a sidenote though, I am writing this almost a year later and it seems that amongst all his playmates, he has actually continued to keep in touch with S, his swimming mate.

THey will meet every now and then, go shopping at 7 Eleven... and once or twice a year, when S's parents bring him out, he will request to invite Ace along.

Actually they are quite far apart in age and S is a few years younger. Ace used to go out with him and send him home... that is why his parents know Ace as well. I am pretty amazed that they are this close;)

But better that his has more friends I guess;)

 These days, I will get Ace to come help carry groceries for me when I buy stuff home...

He will usually come meet me at the MRT and help carry stuff from the MRT to home...

Other days, we will just hang out together and have dinner together.

And usually when we are taking the escalator at Bedok Reservior MRT where it is not very crowded.. this is what he will do...

I tell him this is very ah beng... hahahaah

Some days he crouch down on purpose till he sees someone and we always have a bet about whether there is someone else who will see him at the other end of the escalator.. LOL

And because I asked him not to do it.. he decided to do on purpose  everytime we are at the MRT.. If i said "Don;t stand near me, dun let pple know you are my son leh.. so malu.." THen he will purposely shout loudly, "Everyone, this is my mum!"

Cheeky boy... LOL

It's a silly but fun game we play and I wonder at what age he will stop...

REcently started bringing breakfast to work and one of the things I will bring is egg:)

So after I had my breakfast, I was suddenly inspired to add a smiley face to my egg... cos it looked like humpty dumpty who had a great fall..

And I suddenly had an inspiration...

Even if you are half broken, it is still possible to face the day with a smile and feel gratitude or happiness in your heart. That is the power of choice.
