Win Win Situations

What is a win win situation?

According to Ace Dictionary.. it means that when mummy has a competition to see who can finish the liang teh (chinese one this time) faster, if he wins, he plays toys with mummy, if mummy wins, mummy has to play mahjong with him.."But only play for fun type of mahjong.." he repeatedly assures mummy...

Or, alternatively, it is when we play scissors paper stone and the following rules apply...

Ace: If I win, you buy transformer for me...
Mummy: If you win, I give you a hug lah.. we win things not related to money lah...
Ace: No lah, if you win, I buy you a Superman pants.
Mummy: But I don't need superman pants. I have alot of pants..
Ace: (thinks for 5 seconds).. you only got two nice bags right? If you win, I buy you a bag lah...
Mummy: Erm.... (really tempted... amused and touched that he noticed)
Ace: How about I buy you a really sexy bag?
Mummy: Why cannot give me a big big kiss?
Ace: Okie lah, I buy you a Hello Kitty Towel! How about that? Set!? Set ok?
Mummy: (seeing that he tried so hard) Okie lah okie lah...

And we played scissors paper stone and I won..."Ok, where is my hello kitty towel?" I teased Ace...

"You wait, I go get it from the cupboard for you.." and he ran to the cupboard and took out the towel that he brought to school.

Hilarious!

Police And Thief!

Ace has just furthur expanded his POLICEMAN SET.

First, he got a NYPD policeman blue shirt... and Daddy also bought him some spy walkie talkies...and also a new set of handcuffs and the father and son team had a great time playing Police And Thief:)

Thank god this new handcuff has got some sort of safety release so it is ok even if we loves the keys. Anyway, since he got it, he has been wanting to handcuff us to the chairs, tables, and anything he can see... because of the safety release, we can escape easily:)

I Go Dubai

Max bought a cabin luggage the other day and once it got home, it became Ace's toy. He started putting his stuff into the luggage and lugging it around the house and he told me, "I going to Dubai now..."

After 30 min and 10 round around the living room, he is finally in Dubai.. but he is still walking around with the luggage... so I asked him why he is doing that.. "I want to be like daddy..." Hahahaha...

Anyway, the other day, we were talking about what would happen if we visit Daddy in Dubai... and Ace said, "We will be so happy.. when we go Dubai and daddy goes to work, then we can watch Tom and Jerry at home on TV and then we can go swimming..."

Wait a minute, that sounds like what we did DURING THE BALI TRIP!

So I guess Ace thinks watching Tom and Jerry and going swimming are typical leisure activities you do when you are overseas and his thinking of us going there is just to have fun!

The Barber Is Back!

The barber is back! hahahaha...

After a month long departure, Max is finally back to help Ace cut his hair....

As usual, after his hair cut, his grandparents started to ask, "Why is his hair so short?" Let's see who will cut Ace's hair for him next month.. and whether Ace will still have "bali paddy fields" at the back of his head. ;)

Otah Bread

When Max was travelling, I was happily baking bread with Ace.. so max requested that I also made some bread for him when he came back.. so when Max was back, I kept my promise and baked him some Otah bread....

I baked one batch for him, one batch for mother's day and one batch for a gathering at Mag's place... (each batch can only make 6) so that Karen ganma can try too.. cos she has always been baking and cooking for me.....

I had Ace help me combine the flour and the other materials... and got him to help knead it.. but it was a little bit difficult for him to roll the dough into a long stick so that he can wrap it around the otah... in the end, there was flour and dough all over my kitchen cos he was using it like a playdoh! Hahahaaha...

Anyway, feedback was good! I shall bake more if I can find the vegeterian otah again...:) Yes, LM, Veron... will keep your shares in mind:) Hahahaha....

Happy Mothers' Day

Since about a few weeks ago, Ace kept talking to me and telling me about some family day that they are going to have in school.. sometimes he says it is a party, sometimes he says it is a celebration.. once he mentioned the word "mummy" so I guess he meant Mother's Day and was quite surprised that his school intended to celebrate Mother's Day.. but since I did not receive any letters, I just forgot about it...

And then, 3 days before mother's day, when i went to pick Ace up from school, the moment he saw me, he said to me, "Happy birthday, mummy..." and then he quickly took something out from his bag and passed to me.. it was a cookie and a card and flower that he made all by himself... I think he actually meant Happy Mother's Day...

It was such a sweet gesture and his flowers were really nice too:) They are made from egg trays and he proudly told me that he coloured and pasted the shiny stuff all by himself.

Anyway, for our mother's both me and Ace made some Otah Bread together and gave to them as Mother's Day present:)

Here's a big thank you to mummy, popo, ah ma, mama.... to all you wonderful women.. thank you for all your contributions to the family.. thank you for your unconditional love and everything you have done for us.. I love you!

I Want To Exercise

Everyweek when I am bringing him to the swimming pool, we will pass by this exercise place and he would say that he wants to go over and exericise....

I would tell him we would go another day cos we alre always in a hurry to get to the pool.. or that area will always be too crowded...

The other day, after art class, we happened to pass by the exercise place while walking back... so I told him he can go exercise now and in the hot midday sun... Ace started running around and "exercising"..

Thankfully, after 3 min.. he got tired of it and was happy to go home.. hahaha

Swimming Class Again

It has become a norm for Ace to bring his water gun along.. he would play with it before his swimming teacher appears, pass to me when his lessons start and play with it again with it again after his lessons...

Now that he is more confident and comfortable in the swimming pool, he would go to the medium pool to play instead of the baby pool... and he would even hold on to his swimming board and kick happily away by himself without support from anyone...

Let's hope he will one day be able to do it without his board:) hehehe...

Thank You Ace

In the past month, Ace has been great company for me.. doing silly things and making me smile when I am down and keeping me company when I am feeling lonely....

For example, when i was telling him about the places that Daddy has travelled to, he would find names like Aman really funny and spend like half an hour laughing over it and his laugh is indeed infectious made me happy too....

So the other day, I told him, "Ace, thank you for your company, for making me laugh and for all your love..." Somehow, I think he understood my gratitude.. without me saying anything, he smiled and hugged me for a long time after that....

The next two days, he was in a very happy mood and actually stopped checking on me and asking me when i am coming home when i am out at night. hahahahaha:)

3 Cai 1 Tang 2

Ever since the show San Cai Yi Tang 2 is starting to show on tv, Ace has been telling me that he wants to be San Cai Yi Tang 2.... I take it to mean that he would like to be a chef...

Anyway, he is amused mainly because when he goes to school and says "San cai yi tang 2" to his friends, they laugh and find it hilarious... so every now and then, he would say he wants to be san cai yi tang 2...

The other day, he kept pestering me to make him a chef's hat.. when I made it using a plastic bag that was white in colour, he was very unhappy and insisted that I had to make it using white paper...

So in the end, I masking taped two pieces of white paper together into a barrel, put a VOTE DAVID LEE pin I got from the lions club convention on it and gave it to Ace and he was finally happy...

But leh, it seems he still finds that his play outfit was not complete, he quickly ran to find masking tape, taped it on the table and started scribbling on it... and all I saw was "ACE CHUA 3*1*2"

And I was wondering what 'Ace Chua 321 meant...

"No lah... not Ace Chua 321. It is Ace Chua, 3 Cai 1 Tang 2!" Orh.. the gibberish shape represented the words he did not know how to write.. CAI is replaced with a leaf like shape and Tang is replaced with a circle thing that looked like a bowl of soup...

HILARIOUS! Hahahaha...

Anyway, he happily posed for a few photos for me and went on to make some DIM SUM for me using his play dough set.. proudly donated to him by Tashi and Oracle.. hahaha...

Sleeping Handsome

Time flies... In a twinkling of an eye.. Ace has grown from baby to toddler to a little boy!

But his 'pattern' has not changed one bit... here's a pic of him I took when he was sleeping the other day.. compared to the photos I took when he was a few mths old! Hahaha..

As they say, leopard can never change its spots and old habits do die hard:)

Mr Monkey

The latest game that Ace is playing with me is this game called Mr Monkey. Actually, Ace invented the game..one day we were lying on the bed an he started using a falsetto voice and called me Mr Monkey and pointed to the two yellow bolsters and said that they were bananas...

The next day, while I was taking nap, he came and disturb me by saying that I took his bananas in the same falsetto voice... and then he announced that he wants to disturb me...

So I told him that when he sleeps, I will wake him the next day by pretending to be Mr Monkey too...

The next day, my grandma had a hard time waking him cos he played for a long time before he slept... so I tickled his legs and used a falsetto voice and told him, "Oh Mr Monkey, look at these two bananas! I want my bananas!" (He was wearing yellow pants that day... ).

When he did not wake up, I hit is buttocks and said, "Wah, here are two delicious peaches! Mr Monkey, wake up, wake up... I found 2 peaches..."

And when he still did not wake up, I ruffled his hair and said, "Come on, Mr Monkey, I found a coconut!" And Ace just inisted on closing his eyes and smiling secretly in his "sleep". He finally did wake up and from now on, every night before he sleeps, he wants to play the Mr Monkey game but he has since changed it to Mummy Monkey and Son Monkey game intead of Mr Monkey... and he even added variety like we have more different fruits as well... the mouth are strawberries and the ears are oranges, etc... and he still speaks in a falsetto voice...

But he is more creative in that the monkeys dun just eat food but also do things like slide down branches (the bolsters) or play hide and seek on the trees... HAHAHAHA...

Looks like it will stay our BEFORE SLEEP game for quite a while...

The other time he was in a pretending to be baby game... every nite before we slept, he will run his hands over his face like "FACE OFF" and say, "SHING" and everytime he says that, he transforms into a baby and when he wants to talk, he will "SHING" and transform back into a boy.. this game lasted for about 2 weeks...

Let's see how long this one will stay...

PS: When Daddy came home, I told him about this game and somehow, the two "perverted" men.. big and little decided that the armpit will be the strawberries from now on.. yew.....:S Hahahahaha.....
