Visit To The Animal Farms In Singapore

We had so much fun when we visited the Petting Zoo in Dubai, we decided we will try to find one in Singapore and see if we can visit it..

Max did a google search and found that there is a Animal Resort Petting Farm in Singapore and so we decided to visit it.

We were not sure what to expect. Given the many regulations in Singapore, will there really be more animals? Will it be as fun? Will it be more sterile?

One thing for sure though.. the cool spring weather in dubai was definitely more comfortable:)

Took us a while but we finally found the place after meandering here and there cos the GPS did not exactly know where this ulu place is:)

When we went in, the first animal that we saw was this horse...

He has such captivating eyes... when you join with him... and look into his eyes, somehow feel like this horse is a wise, old soul:) Ok lah.. not tat old. a little older than Ace onli:) wahahahha...

When we walked furthur in, we saw some hens and roosters..

There is a stall where they sell treats.. you can buy the to feed the animals... you are not allowed to bring your own food to feed...

Ace bought carrots and some fish food... cos tree packet for $2 mah..

Next stop, feeding carrots to the rabbits:)

Then we saw the guinea pig and his friend and wonder why the friend got no hair.. Max said maybe it is a piglet....

Then we realized much later that it is a type of animal called the skinny pig!

think this bunny is very cute but Ace says he doest like bunnies with red eyes.. "They look very evil.." he says.. wahahahaha.. i think he watch too much cartoons:)

After feeding the rabbits, guinea  pigs and skinny pigs, we walked further in and saw an enclosure with peacocks.. too bad din see the peacock open up their feathers..

We walked over to another part of the farm and saw this bird.. the Marabou Stork looked forlorn and was standing around this patch of dried grass. maybe is its nest..

Decided to go over to feed the fishes and walked past this part of the bond with many flying RED dragonflies... Can you spot the in the picture? ;) I always thought red dragonflies are only found in songs... (remember? The xiao hu dui's HONG QING TING song??) but I never thought they are real!It is a real delight to see them flying around cos they are so bright and cheery looking:)

Reached the fish pond only to realize that the fish are overfed... sigh.. early know just buy more carrots.. feeding the rabbits is most fun ;)

After walking around and looking at the various animals...

Went back to feeding rabbits cos it is most fun:) hahaha..

After he fed the rabbits an the rabbits trusted him more, Max started petting them on their heads :)

Skiny pig: Please.. please give me some carrot..
Me: Cannot lah... I already feed you so muc and you always dun share.. and bully guinea pig...

Grand finale... going back to see PIN and feed him:)

Max was so afraid Pin will eat his hand too:) waahaha

Heng ah.. he only ate the carrot:)

Goodbye...

There is a lizard trapped in the love bird's cage..

After that, we tried to drive around to see if there are other farms we can visit...

Alas.. nothing much.. except a mushroom farm..

Mushrooms were not growing so no farm tour.. so leh, we were just happy to buy some mushroom stout (yes, you heard me right) cos they were on sale.. and a packet of mushroom soup...

Max 不死心and we started searching for more farms to go... it was really like a round trip around Singapore.. hahaha.. but we couldnt find much..

We found out in pasir ris area.. there are also some farms and made our way there... saw a fish farm and went in to look a aerowana and stingrays and various fishes..

We tried to visit some pet farms but they are really just places to sell dogs... Saw some cats that looked like leopards there.. Something like this.. they dun allow photography so i got this from the internet..

Then there was this farm that was linked to an area selling plants.. they sold lots of beautiful orchids..

And the owner had a lovely pet dog too:)

There was even a bonsai shop...

And me and Ace went to watch a rabbit getting their fur trimmed...

And then.. I think we did our best lah.. but no more farms to explore...

So it was time to say goodbye..

I feel very sad that we do not really have any nice petting zoos in Singapore.  All in all, I think our experience in Dubai was much more pleasant.. considering we could spend so much time there and there were so many things to see...

Max says the mushroom stout is nice and is looking forward to buy more.. wahahaha:)
