Hong Kong Trip Day 4.1: HK Disneyland

Finally, it was time to make our way to Hong Kong Disneyland!

Ace, as usual, slept late and woke up grumpy... The day before, I had bought a few pieces of bread for breakfast and he has one cake he hasnt eaten yet and so we asked him to eat the cake as breakfast (while I saved the bread for a rainy day later).

Up we go on our bus and we see our fellow city tour tourmates:) And then onward we go to Disneyland Hollywood Hotel... When we arrived, the hotel is so bz.. there was so many lugguage everywhere and so many people walking around! Our room was not ready yet and so we dropped our bags with the hotel and quickly took the shuttle service to Disneyland...

Our guide maps ;)

Yes, finally we are at Disneyland...

However, I felt non of the wonder I was told one would feel in Disneyland.. and for a few very good reasons too... firstly, it was a really hot day and there were so many people about.. it was summer holidays for the children of HK and China and so the park is extra packed... tat means lots of queuing.. out in the hot sun! Think liao also "sian ji puah"....

So hot tat Ace cannot even take pics with his eyes opened! By the way, this is not the official gate yet!

These are our disneyland tickets:)

After some queuing in the hot sun.. we finally made our way in!:) Welcome to HK Disneyland!

So many people milling around.. so just wat do we do first??

We queued up for the first thing we saw!:) Animation school... learning how to draw disney characters.. I hope we get to learn how to draw Mickey or Minnie!

In the end, our lesson was how to draw Daisy Duck!:) TO my surprise, Max's drawing is quite nice lor:) wahahahah....  I was seated beside Ace and he kept grumbling and so I sort of found it a little hard to concentrate and follow.. my daisy duck turned out to look a little frankenstien :) wahahahaha... Ace leh, was just upset and crying because he says his duck is very ugly... sigh.................. You see, the teachers were teaching in cantonese and there is a screen tat you can follow as the teacher draws.. but because he did not understand cantonese, he drew all the base shapes with lots of strength as well instead of using the pencil lightly.. PLUS.. as the teacher say, "A good animator never uses erasers.." and so, only pencils and paper were provided and not erasers.....

Some classic and well loved animation of Disney:)

This is Ace's "just kenna a scolding from daddy about whining and trying to smile" look... posing right beside TARZAN..

Saw this very interesting thingy... tat when you press the button, it will twirl and the lights go on and off and then you will see like an animation of the toy story guy and girl lassoing and the other characters doing something interesting too:) very cute!

In the case you are interested, here is a video I found of it on youtube:

Cool right?

Ah, the incredibles! :) That's Max, and me.. and ACE:) wahahahaha:)

Ace: My favourite Buzz Lightyear!

When we walked out of the exhibition, there was actually someone who was playing piano out on the streets on a tricycle.. just like a disney cartoon.. cute!:)

Guess what I found... Mickey Hotcakes! So cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bah, but these character pancake makers cost a bomb.. i saw a doraemon one in Singapore and it cost S$60.... my lock kok boh brand one is less than $20 lor!:)

And onward to TOMORROWLAND:)

Check out the first two men on the moon!:)

The two men cannot take the heat "on the moon" and run to the rocket to get sprayed by water a little...

Minnie Angel mouse:) Wahahaha.. I have always wanted to take this and pose for a picture.. hahahahah

We saw alot of people taking fast ticket so we also take lah.. we also din know wat we were taking.. only after we took then we figured out  sort of wat it means... Apparently, in order to help you queue a little less, for some rides, they have this thing called the fast pass.. so if you want to play right, you take  like a queue number in advance and then go and do other things and come and play this maybe an hour later or wat.. at your own free time.. we din know and so we sat there and waited for time to pass! hahahaha

Then hor, we saw a sao bao Buzz Lightyear posing for photos.. alas when we started queuing, they say no more liao... this buzz lightyear is so  sao bao lor... hahahahha

Finally our turn to go in and play the game.. dunno wat game just go lah...

Turn out to be pretty fun.. you supposed to go inside and sit in this car and then use a gun to shoot at the target boards along the way...

Ace is a level 3 warrior!:) Despite me taking photos along the way, I also not bad.. level 2.. wahahahaha;) max got a gun tat is spoilt.. so bummer:)

Then to fantasy land....

Ace working in a castle?:P

Then we saw a little garden and walked in.. then we found out it is some photo taking booth where you took photos with the different characters... while queueing, we saw the train and decided we are going to take the train later!:)

Just as it was about ot be our turn, the characters went on a break... tat is them coming back from their break..

Finally, our turn to take pictures;)

Heng we bought a copy of this photo cos the one in our camera.. Ace did not look into the camera at all lor...

Well, when we met Conrad and Fanny, she gave Ace some stickers and told him to ask for stickers bravely and they will surely give out stickers.. cos all the people working there have some stickers in their pockets somewhere:) Ace asked for it and got a golden mickey card!:) COOL!

I loved the GOOFY.. he is so funny.. when not posing for photos, he was also making lots of funny poses:) wahahahahaha

Then we came out of the garden and heard lots of noises.. we realized tat the parade of fantasy has already started... but there were sooo many umbrellas, we could barely see the parade, much less take pictures!

So Ace had to sit on daddy's shoulders to watch the parade..

The buzz lightyears in the background are all female versions.. they look so cute with their short balloon skirt lor:) hahaha

And there goes the end of the parade...

Well, I think I will post a video I found on youtube here so tat Ace can ENJOY the FULL parade in comfort of our home.. cos by the time we went to the parade, half the people have already walked by lor...

After tat, we started queuing for this show called  The Golden Mickeys.. dunno wat it is about though...

Turned out it is a dance and song stage show which runs a story round the OSCARS equivilent in Disneyland-- The Golden Mickeys..

It is not too bad and quite interesting:)

Tarzan flying in the air... But no, Tarzan no lost his underwear even though he was twirling around ferociously...

Mulan in attention!

Hawaii dance babe.... means Lilo and Stitch are here! ;)

Sebestian the Crab from The Little Mermaid...

Beauty and the Beast.. who eventually turned into a prince charming.. i think they hogged the most romantic award...

Grand finale!:)

When we were waiting for Goofy to take his coffee break, the staff there told us about It's A Small World.. so we decided to go find out what it is...

It was a hell of a long queue but thank god most of the queue is indoors in aircon.. and here, I discovered and learnt a new way of being "chao kuan"... The PRCs here got a special trick to move up the line, as long as there is space between you and the boundary tat marks the line, they will pass that just so they can move ahead of you... so if the boundary is side and you are only a single person queueing, good luck! Here, the rule is not about who came first and joined the queue first.. here, the unwritten rule is, let's pretend to be "wen ming" and queue but if i see a chance, I will push through and go faster.. And this sort of behaviour is not accepted well in Singapore.. but it is the norm here... is it any surprise there is alot of unhappiness amongst singaporeans about the many FCs?

Anyway, I decided tat when in rome, behave as the romans do.. so while I was there, I jostled and pushed people... but I only do tat when i feel my son might be in danger of being squashed or hit lah...

Finally in the little boat taking us into the SMALL WORLD...

Actually it is exhibition where there are many mechanical dolls dressed in clothes from different countries and the recurring theme is that they are all singing "It's a small world" in different languages.." Quite interesting if I may say...

This is how it looks like on video.. credits to whoever uploaded this to youtube:)

Cool right?

Then it was finally time for lunch.. actually we thought lunch time is too crowded so we decided to only lunch at 2 plus 3... Ace was so lucky lor.. they actually sold Jap food and vegeterian too!:)  This is way better than USS which sold NOTHING for vegeterians!

Now tat we are full, can continue to tick off the "to do list".. hahaha.. next on our list Mickey's Philhar Magic..

This one also super long queue lor.. but worth it cos is quite fun.. is actually a 4D movie:) That is Ace with his 3D glasses

There were many people trying to take photos during the filming despite the no flash photography warnings before.. I really wonder wat these pple were thinking.. dun they realize they are wearing 3D glasses while watching this show and tat whatever photo they take will look different from what they see? Idiots! (Ok, tat is the bitch in my talking.. haha)

Anyway, Ace was pleasantly surprised by the splashes of water this time round instead of CRYING when we went for the 4D show in USS.. phew:)

Due to the very long day we had.. I decided to break up the disneyland post into two.. and so ends our part 1 of the day...
