Oman Trip 7: The Drive Home And Hatta Fort Hotel

Time to head back home... because the trip has been so great.. it is still somewhat surreal and we were sort of sad we are leaving so soon...

Good morning! Up later today and got more rest!:)

Captain America Max and Iron Man Ace getting ready to go eat breakfast!
wahahahaha

After we had breakfast, we came back to the room to pack.. I realized tat if we looked out of the window, we can see that huge mosque we saw the other night.. I bet it is going to be very beautiful when it is done...

Goodbye, mountains of muscat.. we will miss you...

Max getting ready for his long long drive.. he drove almost 1000 km in the last few days...

Oman is so mountainous that for a long time, we were still driving along mountains...

Then we came to this part where the mountains were dug out... quite obvious tat a machine dug them out... maybe they use the debris they dig from the mountains to build the roads we are travelling on...

Strangely, some parts of the road are still rough while some parts of the roads have the dug out parts smoothed out.. I wonder why.. is there a reason and how is the different texture done.. any geologist or construction expert can shed light on this?

Ace trying to use his telescope to look at the rocks up close:)

Tea break in case the drivers fall asleep!:)

Oman cup too lor.. no less!:)

Hanging around and chatting while the rest go toilet..

Hey, Eiffle of Oman, we meet again! This tells me we are just maybe two hours away from Dubai...

While the traffic came to a standstill, I took this photo.. Max say wait the man see and come and beat me up.. wahahahah :) But I just wanted to show the cane I was talking about how the shepherds were using mah:) Usually they just hold it like this.. they dun put it on the floor at all.. no goats around, I really wonder what it is used for... (PS: I googled and found that it is just an accessory! wahahahahaahahha...)

Another pretty roundabout!:)

Someone wanted to go to the loo.. so we stopped again and also for driver to rest. But the petrol kiosk is deserted and closed! Ace saw something that interest him... Guess what :)

It's a chocolate called choco boy.. that nai nai bought for him when he was in Singapore.. it made him miss nai nai...

Seeing different type of mountain tells me we are in a different area..

Wait a minute.. these look familiar.. do you remember where we last saw this??:P

Hehehe.. actually is near Oman Checkpoint lah:)

Goodbye Oman:) Adios!

Moving back into Dubai..

Max was so disappointed that he couldnt find any alchohol in the makeshift DFS we saw.. wahahaha:)

Nevermind... in a short while, we arrived in the very pretty Hatta Fort Hotel!

So beautiful! I like! We must come here and spend more time one weekend!:)

Dunno why Ace posed like this.. I din ask him to stand there or pose like that. he ownself did:) wahaha

That is where we are headed for lunch! Yums!

Give that man a BEER!

SHIOK.. after a detox of not having beer for a few days.. whahahahahah :)

That is where we want to go after lunch.. the mini hill is a park of sorts and would be quite pleasant to walk up to the top... Max did a stunt mid way up.. When I was there, I heart pik pok pik pok and my knees turned into jello... notice tat there is a tiny peak on the right side? He go and stand there and take photo... now that I look at it.. it doesnt lok so steep like what I saw from my angle while I was up there.. so not so bad..

Max challenged Ace to jump over the hedge and roll down the slope.. wahahahahah

Then he said.. go over and run... and so they did!

At the foot of the mountain there is a life size chess board...

Ace coming back to look for me..

We walked the other way to the park and saw some rabbit sanctury.. this rabbit so cute hor:)

Starting our walk up the "hill"... actually is very leisurely walk and every few steps, there will be somewhere you can rest....

Great view too:)

Another resting point...

The last resting point available..

Take some selfies:) hahhahaha.. cos so pretty the background...

Look, there is lallang here!

Then Mr Max starts his stunt....

So cool hor..

Just to give you an idea of wher ehe is and why my heart pik pok pik pok...

Max taunting Ace and asking him why he dun join him there.. and Ace is just hiding behind me cos he is afraid of heights.. after taking these photos for Max, I had to turn away to back face him... scary!

The breath-taking view...

Max's favourite rays of lights through the clouds.. wahahah

Then we slowly made our way down...

Bye bye Al Rama park:)

I also want to play chess! Turns out the chess pieces are all made of plastic and very light:)

And time to head home...

The last leg of the mountains we will see...

We actually stopped our car to take photos because Max says the sun rays are so pretty... he says it is like dieties coming down to earth like tat... Erm.. actually I dunno what he is talking about ;) I just help him take photos...

But the clouds started to cover the sun...

Then we are back at the desert area...

Saw many people doing their 4 wheel drive and also parking in the desert and camping with their friends and family..  that is one of the things i will like to try before i leave dubai :)

The sun is at it again... this time giving out rays in all directions!:)

Dubai's skyline... we wanted to go to the chinese supermarket but missed a turn.. so decided to head home instead... I asked Max.. if we leave Dubai and want to get a picture or a painting to represent Dubai.. what sort of painting will he get... I think for me, the representative of Dubai will be Burj Khalifa... number one.. it is visible from where we stay.. number two... many times when we are travelling or lost.. it is like the shining beacon that tells us roughly which direction we should head towards:)

Surprisingly, my husband says he just wants the turkish lamps.. wahahah :)

Passed by the flamingo park as well.. just nice catch a pic of them too:) But too bad we were driving too fast and Ace was asleep.. or he could have used his telescope:)

And that is the end of our wonderful holiday:)

Felt so surreal when I got back home and cannot help but feel disappointed that our holiday has ended..

All in all, very enjoyable holiday with great company. Hope we will have a chance to do this again!
