Super Ace, Flying Baby

Ace can fly!

And fly he did when he saw Ah Yee coming out from the toilet.

Alas he is not a very good 'flier'... so he ended up with yet another bruised 'bao' on his head.

You see, me and Daddy had decided to grant ourselves a one day holiday and so we left Ace with waipo and went shopping.

Ace was initially happily playing on Waipo's bed and Waipo was just lying next to him...

Ah Yee decided to go to toilet and when she walked out from the toilet (which is also in Waipo's room), Ace saw her and got very excited. (Ace loves Ah Yee alot..) He then stood up and try to 'FLY" towards Ah Yee...

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... PLOK!

And he landed on his head again..

But the brave boy just whimpered for a while.

Maybe I should buy him a pair of wings the next time he decides to repeat this stunt... ;)

The Many Antics of Sleeping Ace

Well, we know that growing babies are lots of fun because they often have many tricks up their baby sleeves.

Ace is starting to understand more about the world everyday and he is starting to have the ability to react to things that are happening around him.

It is little wonder that he has many tricks like pretending not to look at me when I say goodbye... like trying to jump off the chair (he would if he wasnt securely tied to it).

But who would have thought that this cute little baby can even come up with tricks and stunts even when he is sleeping??!!

Rolling off to sleep
The other day, Ace woke at around 6am to ask for milk. He climbed up from his crib to my bed and then started to suckle away. He suckled for very long and didn't seem satisfied. When I took away the nipple, he was quite upset and started to make noise...

So I put it back again...

Then all of a sudden, he pulled his mouth out, rolled over and FELL back onto his bed with a loud "PLOMP" and was asleep in that strange position. He wouldnt budge no matter how I nudged him and so I just left him in that position.

Sit and Reach
Then on a different occasion, Ace woke up suddenly (in the middle of a nightmare i assumed) and then cried and sat up on his own.. he continued to cry and cry until I walked over to him and asked him, "Why darling? What's wrong?"

Perhaps he felt safe after hearing mummy's voice and then he just toppled over from his sitting position into that sit and reach position and continued sleeping! Like that also can!

Babies really never cease to amaze me!

We Won WW4!

World War 4 took place on 23 March during wee hours in the morning.

The result? Ace Chua signing peace treaty with his mummy, Angel, and peacefully sleeping at 5.30am.

For the first time in her life, Mummy Angel wanted to throw Ace into the rubbish bin or maybe just pack him up and keep him in the cupboard. She even contemplated just waking Daddy to pass Ace to him and then run away from home from this creature... this monster.. who just wouldnt let her rest.


It's 4am in the morning. I had an extremely long day and had been rather bz. I finally managed to rest only at 2am and when I was woken up at 4am by crying sounds of Ace, I just wished I could go back to sleep and ignore him.

Daddy had an extremely long week and was extremely tired. So, in order to protect Daddy and let him sleep better, I forced myself to open my eyes, sit up and carry Ace in my arms.

"What is it darling?" I asked him.. even though I knew his intent.

"Mummy rock you back to sleep okay? We will have no milk drinking tonight." And I started to rock him to and fro.

Ace started making muffled sounds and so I started to walk around and I started singing songs to him. Alas, he was getting more demanding...

If I stop walking, he cries...
If I stop singing, he cries...
If I stop rocking, he cries...

Finally, after 15 minutes of WALKING, ROCKING and SINGING, Ace decides to surrender and drifts off into lalaland.

I heave a sigh of relief and goes back to bed.

Two minutes later, I am woken up by the very familiar sound of Ace baby crying.

I repeat the process... I started to walk around and I started singing songs to him. Once and again..

If I stop walking, he cries...
If I stop singing, he cries...
If I stop rocking, he cries...

He finally sleeps after 15 minutes onli to wake 2 minutes after I put him back in his bed. The process repeats itself a good 5 times.

I told him that he is a good boy who cares for mummy and that mummy is really tired and would appreciated if he went back to sleep. Nope, that didn't work. He doesnt care a hoot about his mummy.. just his milk.

I then tried to appeal to his sympathy and empahty by asking him how would he feel if he were me. I described how the situation is making me feel and for extra measure, I tried to appeal to his fillial peity towards Daddy and asked him to sleep so that Daddy can have a good rest.

"Darn, who cares about your rest. I just want my milk!" he must be thinking cos it didnt quite improve the situation.

By that time, I was almost tearing hair out of my head. It didnt help that I had already been sleep deprived while training him to sleep without milk for the past few days. I was almost going insane and it is then when I started thinking funny ideas to amuse myself... After much contemplation, I decided that I probably could:
1) throw ace into the dustbin
2) wrap him up and keep him inside the cupboard
3) just throw him at Daddy, pack up and run away from home.. far far away from wailing babies

Anyway, I was starting to lose my patience. I decided to use a different strategy. I let him cry a while and let him play a while so that I could use up his energy and then when he seemed a little more sleepy, I told him, "Mummy is going to rock you one last time. If you don't sleep or stay asleep, I will leave you here and just go back to bed.. and I will ignore you..."

Finally... VICTORY at 5.30am. How did I know that I had won the battle? Well, he went all soft and wouldnt wake no matter how I nudged him or moved his limbs.

I put him back in his crib and dragged my tired torso back to bed. So angry at this baby. My mum and grandma keeps telling me tat Ace is a very good baby as compared to most children. I really pity the parents of children who are considered 'bad' babies...

Well, the enemy was good i tell you.... all he needed to do was to smile at me the next morning and all the anger melted away and is replaced with love...

Hao Lian Ace

Now.. we learn things from the people around us... I wonder how Ace learn to haolian... hahaha...
Me and daddy are not very boastful pple.. nor are we show offs...

But tat day.. when Ace woke up, he tried to crawl over to my bed. You see, since he kenna a BAO on his head, we have lowered his cot so tat he is sleeping on step lower than our bed.. and since he cannot climb steps or climb up yet.. when he is trapped in his cot, he is quite safe ;)

Anywayz, he woke up and as usual started talking to the pillow, talking to the fan beside the bed... and then suddenly he realised that I had woken up and was staring at him and climbed over...

Using my bed as a leverage, he started to stand up.. and then after he stood up, he stared at me.. gave me a very brilliant smile and with a haolian smirk on his face, he slowly took away one hand from the bed...

When he realised I was still looking at him... he slowly removed the other hand so tat he was standing without support... he lasted for like 3 seconds and sat down hard on his bum and then he would smile happily...

I started to praise him, "Wah.. baobei can stand.. so clever..." and clapped hard for him...

And then he had the, "i-know-i-am-very-clever" look and he started to repeat the process again and again and again and again and again... till his legs were tired.. hahahaha

I must say he is really cute when he does tat... I took a video clip of him.. but i dunno how to put it up here for your viewing pleasure.. so for those who are interested, email me.. give me your gmail acc n i will send the file to you...

Ace Claps!

Ah Yee's blog is called Clatzz Claps.

Maybe I should start calling this blog Ace Claps.. hahahahahah :)

That because Ace has finally started to clap! yeah!

For the past two weeks, I have been teaching Ace to clap... it all started with the Your Baby Can Read VCD.. cos it teaches the word "clap". So I always do the action of clapping whenever the word comes on the screen.

Sometimes when he does something clever, I will clap and say, "What a clever baby! See, mummy is clapping.. can you clap?"

But he usually ignores me when I do that.

About 2 days ago, he started clapping along.. but he usually does so maybe 1 minute after I have already stopped clapping.. hahaha... and he would all of a sudden clap... but he wouldnt clap when I ask him to. However, once he gets started, all you need to do is to praise him, "Oh.. so clever... what a clever boy.. wah.. so clever... you can clap!!" and in addition to clapping, he will also start to giggle and laugh and make some happy noises...

Today, however, he has started to clap when i ask him to. All you need to do is say, "Clap, baobei!" and start clapping and he will happily clap along...

So proud am I of my achievement that I am starting to teach him to:
- Wave hello and goodbye (he has been doing alot of waving of the arms anyway)
- high five
- kiss me (he obliges sometimes onli..)
- hug me

Waipo Teach Ace to Crawl

Waipo, as you already know, is a child care teacher.. she teaches Chinese in school...

However, at home, she not only teaches Chinese.. she also teaches Ace many other things.. one of it is HOW TO CRAWL.. hahahha...

The other day, Waipo was at my place... and I was happily checking my emails and stuff in the study room..and then I hear Waipo saying, "Come, come, follow me..."

And when I went out to the living room, I saw Waipo on all fours.. and Ace on all fours behind her.. Waipo would crawl a few steps.. use a storybook as a bait and ask Ace to, "come, come..follow me.... good boy..."

It was hilarious.

But I must say it is quite effective ;) hahaha.. Ace has been crawling around.. albeit a little unsteadily..

It also amuses me that the clever boy knows the diff between the hard floor and the soft mattress.. when he is on mattress..he crawls faster and will pounce forward.. but when he is on the hard floor.. he will slowly take his time to crawl and will go back to sitting position when he is tired to rest.. ;)

PS: I wrote tat entry about two weeks ago. I am happy to say tat Ace is already crawling quite steadily and he is now able to crawl to his toy box to grab his toys and play (I regret buying him a see through toy box..sigh...)

Love Bites

I have a love bite on my arm.... and nope, it is not given to me by my hubby... (though I suspect if I let him, he will happily make his claim and mark his territory.. hahaha)

So who else should be so honoured tat I let him bite me? That will be none other than my son, Ace.

Well, just the other day, I was carrying Ace and rocking him to sleep.. i think he was sleepy.. and maybe he was hungry as well.. he suddenly started to suck my arms with much aplomb and gosh.. did it hurt.. when I finally manage to pry his lips away.. there it was.. a huge red patch.. a sign tat my son loves me.. hahahahaha ;)

Daddy, do you want a love bite from Ace too?? ;)

Foot Fetish

Ace has a foot fetish...

At 3 months, he already liked to suck and eat his own toes.. now, he has already advanced furthur.. hahaha.. to wanting to eat MY TOES...

I dunno whether is it becuase I have bright red nails on my feet or he just loves feet.. everytime i carry him and sit down on his tilam, he will aim for my feet and crawl towards it. WHen he gets close enough, he will bend down and and try to suck my toes...

So to make use of his fascination with feet, i just place my feet somewhere and ask him to crawl there.. good training for his crawling..

Anywayz, Waipo just told me that he also likes to grab her toes and suck it.. so I guess it is not the red nail polish..

I wonder where he got this fetish from or where he learnt this from.. hmm...

PS: I changed my nail colour to a very dull shade of pink. Yesterday, he was playing on the floor and I was seated beside him.. he suddenly went towards my foot, aimed for my big toe and sucked on it!!!! What's wrong with my son???

Your Baby Can Read

I recently bought a set of VCDs that teaches babies how to read. It is called Your Baby Can Read. Based on the research of Dr Bob Titzer.. it is a video you watch with your child to teach him/her how to read. I actually quite regret buying so late.. cos the video says you can actually start from 3 month onwards... darn! should have started then...

THe video suggests letting your child watch like twice a day.. and says tat most children love to watch it again and again... however, Ace will only watch for like 2 minutes and his attention span ends.. he will start looking at other things and playing with other toys.. and will only pay attention during the song segment where they sing Twinkle Twinkle Little STar...

Or else, he will start to want to sleep and look really sian...

But i noticed a VERY STRANGE thing.. whenver the video ends and goes into the parent's segment where Dr Titzer starts to explain the what, how and whys... Ace will sit up straight and pay attention to EVERYTHING that is being said! I then emailed to Dr Titzer.. and the nice chap actually replied!

Angel, Hello.

In general, babies love watching our videos. I'm sorry that your son's interest is low at the moment. This sometimes happens for a month or so when the baby begins exploring more because he has learned to crawl or walk. I am surprised that he enjoys watching me!I recommend the following strategies..... I can't emphasize enough that this will work if you can find ways for him to see words while he hears them. Please keep me updated.

Anywayz, after showing Ace the VCD for about a mth or so.. he can now pay attention for like 20 minutes at one shot already.. he has also managed to learn how to wave and how to clap by watching the video...

I think he is starting to understand the meaning of words too.. this morning, I woke up and saw him standing by his cot next to the fan.. afraid tat he would put his finger in, I told him, "Ace, come here.." and then he crawled over.. after playing with him for a while, I turned over to rest and when I turned over, he was again at the fan...

"Yanfeng, guo lai.." he turned around and then happily crawled back to me... I feel tat he is starting to understand simple instructions like sit, stand, wait, no, yes, come, clap... so exciting.. wonder wat he will learn next! :P

Ace Has An Emporer Chair At Home Now

Remember my entry about Ace's Emporer Chair at his grandpa's place? He now also has one at our house ;) Courtesy of our friendly neighbour whom I dun even know her name.. i just call her Aunty...

Ace was crying and crawling around tat day and our neighbour who was about to go out saw him and said, "Hiya, my grandchildren is too big liao.. so got this chair I give to you, you let him sit.. then he wun anyhow crawl around when you do your housework..."

Wat a nice aunty...

In return.. I gave Aunty some food to eat.. hehehe ;) It is a great invention cos it is low.. when grandpa comes, he can sit down n play with Ace.. and Ace can sit and watch is YOur Baby Can Read VCD and not fidgit around...

Aunty is so clever.. even taught me to tie his legs to the chair so tat he wun raise it and try to stand up and topple over!

But even tat doesnt really stop him.. he will still try to climb out of the chair.. the other day.. he decided tat jumping will get him out of it and started jumping up and down in the chair.. and the chair just jumped with him.. sigh... Leng zhua is leng zhua.. leapord cannot change its spots.. leng zhua cannot change its scaley skin.. ;)

Vibrating Ace

Ace has this cute little toy that Megan Ganma bought for him. It is a little truck tat Vibrates when you pull on the orange thingy at the back and let go... Ace to only be able to slam it on the table when he played with it.

The other day, Ace was playing with it and so I demo to him how to pull the orange thingy and let go... he was very happy to see the truck vibrate.

"Now you try..." I told him.. And he started to pull the orange thing. Alas, Ace didn't know how to let go!? so the truck did not rumble...

After a while, I think he figured that if he moved, the truck might to.. so he started to VIBRATE HIMSELF.. hahahha.. I dunno how to describe it.. he didnt just move up and down or left and right.. he literally just vibrated! LIke a PHONE on vibrator mode!!! hahahahahhaha....

I Exchange With You

I really marvel at the fact that Ace understands the meaning of exchange even at such a young age of 8 months.

Just the other day, I woke up and realized that he was already awake. So I greeted him and smiled to him and he started talking to me and playing with me...

Then I grabbed his mini bolster and asked him, "Can you lend mummy your bolster?" And then i hugged it and pretend to sleep... "Your bolster smell very nice leh.. lend to mummy, ok?" (His bolster is really very sweet-smelling lor!)

At first he tried to grab it from me but my grip was too strong... and then he turned to the side and grabbed my bolster and hugged my bolster...

After a while, he pushed the big bolster to me.. and then he tried to grab his small one again.. hahaha.. he also knows how to exchange and bartar trade ah! I think he is made for business ;) Hmm.. daddy, we can get Ace to inherit our biz liao.. hahhaha....

World War 3

last nite.. I tried to go to bed at 2am and my son woke up asking for milk.. as i wanted him to break this bad habit of waking at 2am for milk, i refused to give him milk.. and so we started WORLD WAR 3...

2-2.15am: Ace cry loudly non stop.. have never seen such a CHEONG HEI babie i my life.. can cry at the top of HIS lungs non stop one.. it's a miracle the whole blk 422 did not wake up....

2.15-2.30am: Daddy woke up and started to carry him and rock him (still refused to stop) and then Daddy said I should feed him milk cos he cannot bear to hear him cry like tat... i refused and daddy said, "But i have never seen my mum do this to my brother also..." I was very upset :S suddenly it is my fault like tat.. i also want him to keep quiet and if we can settle things peacefully, i also want mah.. but if i dun break this habit.. i am the one who is suffering leh... i need SLEEP.. and i need ONE STRETCH kind of sleep.. not sleep 8 hrs broken up into 2 hr naps.. I am not baby leh...

2.30-2.45am- : I ask daddy to go to bed and i take over carrying him...he start to quiet down and then by 2.45am, he seemed tired and fell asleep.. i tried to put him back to his bed and he WOKE UP and CRIED AGAIN...

2.45-3am- carry gim n rock him to sleep..

3-3.15am: he decides that he wants to play with his toys...

3.15-3.30: rubs eyes and rock him... closes his eyes..brings him into the room and wake again when he saw the baby poster in my room and starts TALKING LOUDLY to the POSTER!!! Wah lau!

3.30-4am:brings him back to the living room and tries to sooth him.. falls asleep.. wakes a little while later to whine.. and finally falls asleep for good after i sing him twinkle twinkle little star using different languages.... i think i sang the song about a hundred times!!!

PS: I woke up this morning nearly wanting to die.. cos he woke at 5.30 am to drink milk (too tired to fight with him at tat time).. and then again at 9 to drink again.. 10am he is up and playing with my foot and talking loudly to the fan.. why isnt HE tired?????

The Great Imitator

People always tell me to watch my actions and words in front of my son "Because you really dunno what he might pick up..."

So far, Ace has been unable to repeat anything I did.. when I clapped and asked him to clap.. he ignores me... or at best, smiles at me... when I wave and ask him to wave.. he smiles at me..

Yesterday, I left Ace in the care of Waipo and went to office for a short while..

My son was in a super good mood lor. He was smiley and active. The best part is that he only napped once for half an hour inthe afternoon.

When I came home, Waipo started to report to me about Ace's doings...

"Your son is very hyper today.." she says... and went on to described how he crawled all over the place and attempted to grab everybook tat came his way so tat he could tear out the pages...

"I fed him milk just now and got him to hold his own bottle..." Waipo told me proudly... before adding tat Ace managed to hold his bottle and drink till there was about 10% of the milk left inside and he probably became full and started to play with the bottle...

"He pulled the nipple in and out and kept laughing to himself.." she said...

And then when she tried to feed him water and let him hold the bottle himself, he took the nipple out, used his other hand to squeeze the nipple and squirt the water out while he opened his mouth to collect the water... once the water went into his mouth, he would slurp away happily and then laugh at himself..

I got a shock of my life as I listened because that is exactly what I do when I feed him water and he doesnt want to drink!

Ace has become the great imitator suddenly! Just in one day.. earlier on he imitated my "mmm mmm" sound with a crunched up face.. he imitated when waipo kicked her legs..

Okay people, no more nose digging.. no more swearing in front of my son! :) hahahahhah

Rolling Shit...

Am sure you must have heard of the famous rock band, Rolling Stones...

So why is this entry named Rolling SHIT? No offense to the big stars... it is just named so because Ace managed to shit out a round ball of shit tat rolled around in his diapers!

Hahahaha... how cool is that?:P

(That's Ace acting as spokesperson for Fibre Plus.. a product I retail tat helps pple to SHIT easily.. muahahaha.. this picture helped me and my team sell $1040 worth of Fibre Plus for Charity within one day okie.. dun pray pray... )

Well, yday.. Ace was at Waipo's place mah.. so waipo fed him some veg for lunch. He usually has rice gruel or cereal for lunch one.. it is the first time he is taking so much vege..

Today, in the afternoon, Waigong asked me, "Ace shit is it? I can smell something smelly..."

I put my fingers into the waistband of the daipers and took a quick peek.. "Don't have leh..." I told him.. but I also smelt something smelly... so I put my fingers into the pants hole and pull them open to peep..but I still cannot see anything...

Finally, i opened the diapers out and saw a very round piece of shit.. rolling around.. muahahahaha..... ROLLING SHIT!

About an hour later, Laoma asked me, "Joo, is he shitting?"

Ace had his face all scrunched up. So I asked him if he was shitting and asked him to Jia You.. and then I demonstrate to him how to squeeze it all out by saying, "Mmmmm..." with my face scrunched up....

He concentrated and did it a few times and after a while, he started to say, "mmm..." in a sing song manner as if he was imitating me instead of really shitting..

When i opened up his diapers, i noticed that he had a HUGE pile of shit! And it was all green, leafy VEGETABLES! hahhahhahhaa....

Heng Ace is a vegeterian like ME.. dunno whether he will shit DUCK or shit CHICKEN if he eat meat or not.. hahahhahaha....

Ace Has Fallen In Love!!!

Gosh, am i worried!

Ace has fallen in love.. with something pink.. furry... and smiley...

Yeap.. it's a CHEER BEAR... tat's the pink carebear with a rainbow on his tummy... Ah yee's bear..

For some unknown reason.. he will smile whenever he sees that bear. If he cries or is upset, just give him that bear and he will be "CHEERED" and smile.

We have lots of soft toy at home but he seems to only like this bear and so I am a little worried. Cos the bear is PINK in colour.. hahaha.. I certainly dun want my son to become a sissy :P

I have tried showing him all sorts of soft toys. Pink ones without the rainbow.. care bears of other colours.. etc just to try to ascertain what is it about cheer bear that attracted him so much.. (is it the colour, the rainbow on the tummy or is it the smiley face on the bear) and we have come to a conclusion that it is the conbination all things...

Because he loves the bear so much, ah yee said she will buy him one for him to play with. Alas, poor Ace has no affinity with the bear... when we tried to shop for a nice carebear for him.. we only found either:
- carebears with measels and leprosy (okay, it's care bear with leapord spots.. but lookes like leprosy or measels to me)
- carebear with super big heads and small bodies (looks like aneroxic bear)
- care bears with strange outfits

Sigh.. dunno wat the toy makers were thinking... In the end, we went home empty handed... i guess we will just make do with him playing with the bear whenever he comes over to waipo's house...

Yeye Nanny

Yeye plays nanny for one afternoon today and did a great job! *applause*

Well, on Vday, I received a call early in the morning from Yeye telling me tat Nainai is not working today.. so she wanted to see and play with Ace...

As I was at my mum's place tat day (Max was sailing and will be back in the evening), I decided to leave Ace with my MIL when max come back so tat we can have some quiet time together and celebrate our Vday ;)

When we reached Nainai house, Yeye had already gone to work.. so he din get to meet him..

Anywayz, just when we were about to go home after our rendevouz (shhh.. dun ask us wat we did.. it's a SECRET!!), Nainai called us and asked for HELP!

Apparently, seperation anxiety had striked again and Ace was crying and crying and crying non stop. No matter wat nainai did.. he just wouldnt stop! WHen we reached and I carried him, he just hugged me very tight... erm... my fault.. I forgot to tell him that we were going out for a few hours and coming back for him later.. somehow.. whenever I forget to tell him tat.. he gets cranky.. when i do remember, he is okie...

So by the time Yeye reached home, Ace was back home with us as well...

This means tat Yeye has not seen Ace for like 2 weeks... Today, after his doc appt, Yeye came to visit Ace. Since it was lunchtime, i asked Yeye if he wanted to feed Ace.. he gladly agreed...

He looked so happy while he fed Ace and he told me that this is the first time he is feeding a baby.. cos when Max and WIlson were babies, he was bz making money and rarely had time at home to play with them or even feed them ;)

Anywayz, Yeye gets a 8/10 for feeding skills... Ah Yee, you gotto jia you orh ;) you got more chance to practice but still do worse.. hahahaha ;)

Ma Yi On My GGJ!

I have declared WAR with all the ants in my house!

Since my confinement, there have been ants attacking my house... tat's cos confinement nanny said that my pipe did not flow properly and instead of fixing it and telling us.. she just removed the bottom and collected the water with a pail and then throw the water from the pail into the bathroom...

This has somehow attracted alot of ants. In addition, there is this pipe thingy outside my bathroom that has a little hole in it. In the morning.. nothing happens.. but at nite.. the ants will gather together and hold a party right outside the hole... (still waiting for grandpa to bring the putty to seal up the hole)

I am a buddhist so most of the time.. unless the ant comes near me or irritates me, i just let it be as I dun want to kill more lives...

Some of them manage to, however, travel all the way across the kitchen into my living room and when tat happens, too bad for the ant cos I will sure to kill it in case it gets to Ace.

I was just reading an email that day (dunno true or false though) about how some ants crawled into a child's ears and end up building a colony inside the brain. The child died in the end.. so scary...

And I decided that it is either I am cruel and protect my baby or I am lenient and harm Ace indirectly...

What made me decide even more firmly to kill all ants I see is what happened yesterday..

Yesterday, me and Daddy were in a hurry to go out.. Ace had poot poot and as I was halfway through making up, i told him to wait for a while before I come and help him with his pampers...

He seemed to understand and was quietly waiting.. all of a sudden, he started to be really unhappy and started to whine and whine and whine.. and when I unwrapped his diapers, I found an ANT on his SCROTUM!

I immediately crushed that darned ant with my fingers!

At this point, Daddy came and asked, "Why is he whining so much?"

"WOuld you whine or feel comfortable if there is an ant on your GGJ?" I asked Daddy...

Luckily the ant did not bite Ace.. if not..he would die a death worse than giant fingers crushing him! :) humph!

Yeye, I Dun Wanna Become Stupid

Dearest Yeye,

Mummy is very tired cos yday she was bz last nite and so here I am to take over here today...

YeYe, I know you love me and love mummy very much too.... I hope you not angry at wat mummy did that day...

I loved it when you and Nainai feed me toufu... even though it was late and Mummy actually did not want me to eat too much too late at night, she knew you were happy to feed me and so she just gave a go ahead...

But being able to feed me toufu is not equivilent to being able to feed my ANYTHING..

Yeye, why did you feed me beer? Yes, I know it is just one sip.. but it is a parenting issue that Mummy is very sensitive on... cos mummy read that alchohol will actually make the baby's brain slow and stupid... I am sure you dun want me to become stupid right? ;)

Pls forgive mummy for saying that if you feed me again, she will never bring me to visit you. She did not mean any harm.. she just wanted to protect me. She knew that if she said it out, she would make you unhappy or even angry.. but given a choice, she chose to protect me and make you unhappy even though she also respects and loves you very much.. i feel that she is a great mummy, don't you?

Anyway, Yeye.. i like visiting you and like to play with you.. and I know mummy means what she says.. so please dun feed me anymore alchohol okie???

What's BIG, BLUE and SWOLLEN?

A bah lo ku...

Make tat ACE'S BAH LO KU.

I started my day off with a BIG BANG... literally... I was happily sleeping (Very tired cos I was preparing for some charity event over the weekend and din sleep till 5.30, 6am in the morning and woke at 7.30am...)

And then suddenly, I hear a LOUD 'POP' sound!

I woke up, and found that Ace was nowhere to be found! Nearly died of fright!

I looked at the foot of my bed and there he is... his head was on the floor and because the space between my bed and the TV console was a small space, his body was supported by the TV console... He looked as if he was doing a headstand.. and his body was flipped backwards with his spine in a C shape... If you try to imagine it... and if he is not your son but some character in a cartoon or a movie.. I guess it really does seem quite hilarious.. ;) You know.. it is like the character fall and is folded over himself like tat...

I quickly carried him and he was crying very loudly... He has never cried so loudly in his life!

I felt so guilty for not knowing that he had woken! But there was no time to self reprimand...

I sayang him and hugged him close and upon closer inspection, I realized there is a big, angry looking 'bao' (swelling) on his head... He seemed quite inconsolable and cried louder and louder whenever i moved him and I was quite worried.. and then after like about a minuite, he quiet down.. so I gave him some nen nen to suck so that he can calm himself down also...

After that, I tried to ask him to stand, sit, crawl (to ascertain that his spine is okie) and tried to make him luff (to ascertain that his brain is okie). He passsed the tests with flying colours.

But I still din know how to deal with tat angry bao tat was beginning to turn blue black.. i did the only thing i know.. apply VP powder to it...n i quickly called waipo cos she is a child care teacher... Waipo said to apply jam bak and also to use ice to cover with handkerchief and dab over the swelling to help it go down...

I did tat.. and then started to SMS Daddy to inform him about it. Meanwhile Ace is already starting to climb around the whole place...

After a while, he got tired and wanted to sleep.. he crawled towards me and climbed up and rested his head between my breasts, heave a sigh of contentment and just stayed there for 5 minutes like that. I tot he was asleep but he was just enjoying himself.

Then later, i fed him somemore and rocked him to sleep.. but once i put him down.. he would wake up.... so in the end, i brought him to bath and let him watch Your Baby Can Read VCD....

Only when he started clapping his hands and 'singing' along did I finally feel that he is REALLY okie... then I tried to tickle him and he started to giggle.. only then did I know for sure he is okay... phew....

I hope one lesson is enough to teach him not to crawl off my bed again.. anywayz, daddy will put up fencing in his cot and we have decided that he will sleep in his own cot from now on...

Sliderman

Hahaha... I am sure you have heard of SPIDERMAN.. but have you heard of SLIDERMAN??:)

That's Ace's new nick given by Ah Yee... cos Ace keeps pushing himself and sliding all over the floor.... (He's learning to crawl mah..)

Because he has taken to sliding around, (one quick trip to the kitchen for a drink of water means he can slide from the mattress in the living room to the doorway of my bedroom), we have decided to buy him a playpen...

After much contemplation and comparison, we bought him a $99 one from the Hypermart in Ubi... not bad.. on sale.. got bed.. got diaper changing table.. got alot of nice extras :) when all i wanted was just a place for him to sit SAFELY while i go about and do my housework...

My house was in a mess for weeks cos Sliderman would slide around and I couldnt leave him even for one second... firstly because Sliderman is good at sliding and sliderman likes to pick up things, explore and the PUT IN THIS MOUTH..

Secondly... Sliderman has developed a little bit of seperation anxiety... if there's onli me and him at home.. he would want to see mummy's face ALL THE TIME... once mummy is out of sight.. he makes a fuss...

Bathing slowly has become a luxury cos I now have to do so by putting him in a highchair (which aunty Jenny says is very dangerous cos it is the IKEA one) right outside the bathroom.. and i have to open the door a little so that I can say "Hello" occasionally while i shampoo my hair... wash my arms and legs...

Anywayz, in preperation for Sliderman.. Mummy has to take on a HUGE project of CLEANING THE HOUSE and PACKING IT to MAKE IT SAFE FOR SliDerMan... gee.. wish me luck... ;)

Kan Cheong Daddy

Daddy has been very kan cheong about the sms photo contest... ;)

I think we should be able to win it lah.. by virtue of our huge network of frens (400 pax beach wedding actually wasnt quite enough for us then...) who adore Ace... and the number of people who wouldnt mind seeing our HUNZA BABY become the winner! ;) and also the fact tat Grandpa has a huge network of frens too.. and Ace has at the moment 4 godmas and 3 god grandma and 1 godpa....

Ace's New Stunt

Ace is at the age where he is learning to crawl...

He started out learning how to fold his legs in so that he is all on his fours....

Then he started to rock back and forth while he is on his fours (yes, I know... it looks kind of obscene sometimes when he does tat.. hahahaha)

Then he started to crawl backwards... by using his hands to push himself backwards. Recently, that has been more or less his mode of travelling from one place to another...

Yesterday, he started to make progress in crawling forward. However, he can only crawl one step at a time... cos he kind of like POUNCES forward and rests all together.

Today, I realize that he can go from a crawling position and into a sitting position.

I gotto quickly go and get his playpen.. he is getting more and more mobile...

Just today, I woke up feeling rather tired... I saw that Ace was awake but I was just too tired so I just pushed him to my breasts for milk and fell asleep again...

Suddenly, I heard a scraping sound, opened my eyes and realised that I was alone on the bed! "Where is my son?!" I tot to myself...

I crawled to the edge of the bed and realized that Ace was lying in the 'drain' between the bed and the wall on the bolster.. my guess is tat he must have tried to push himself backwards such tat the bolster dropped into the drain... and then he went on to 'fall' into the hole... so he used his hands and feet to scrap on the bed to make a noise so tat i would wake up...

When i went to rescue him, he still continued to smile at me.. hahahha....

I really think Ace is very cute....

PS: I wrote this entry a week ago... by now, he has since fallen off bed again at least once... we have bought his playpen... AND he is able to move forward by crawling or shifting his buttocks.. he has also learnt to hold things to try to stand up and is able to kneel from a sitting position...

Ace, the white lion

Do you remember that when we were very small, there is this cartoon called KIMBA the WHITE LION?

It is such a popular cartoon and so cute tat Walt Disney copied it and made it into SIMBA the Lion.. movie.. called THE LION KING...

I remember this movie very well because I paid for my own tickets to watch it and i liked it so much that i went ahead and bought the CD for the soundtrack while I was in JC.. tat is like a very RARE thing lor.. cos i seldom spent money on anything frivolous like CDs etc...

I was lying on bed tat day and watching Ace sleep.. and suddenly, it hit me tat he really looked very cute and he looked VERY MUCH like Kimba the lion! hahahhaah

THe same sharp nose.. big eyes and sharp chin mah.. even the hairstyle also quite similar... hiyo.. cute dao............

Ace can understand ME!!

I have been telling everyone tat babies understand wat we say.... cos Ace always responds to wat I say...

Sometimes, however, I wonder if it is all lucky or expectations on my part that causes it to seem as if he really understands wat i say...

Today, finally i have solid proof tat Ace understand wat i say.. ;)

It came about by accident.. i was playing with ace and he was lying on the bed in his playpen.. then i said, "Hold mummy's hands" and he held my hand... "Stand up.." and he stood up.. "Sit down.." and he sat down..

I tot I was just lucky so I din really bother.. until later in the afternoon... I tried it again.. this time.. i made him stand up and sit up a few times.. and paused before i asked him to stand or sit just to see if he happen to sit down or was really because he understood what I was telling him.. i also kept my hands immobile so that it would not give him any clue as to wat I was saying... and still he sat and stood whenever I asked him to!

WoW! It's so cool!

Okie.. with this confidence, I am going to be ambitious! I am next going to train him to smile whenever he cries.. hahahahaha...

Creative Ace

Jez mama told me before that when babies tear paper, you are not to take it away from them and tell them "no". This is because this is how they show their creativity. If you stop them, you will hinder their creative process...

Ace is a very 'creative' kid ;) He loves papers... he would take a piece of paper and crumple it here and there.. each new piece of paper can entertain for 15-20 min.. and then sometimes, he will even attempt to tear it.

I was really quite surprised that day when mummy showed me a Biotherm Postcard advertorial... one tat was torn into pieces by my precious son.. postcard leh.. so hard he also can tear.. he very good ah ;)

Lately, Ace is getting more and more inquisitive.. he is also more reactive as he is starting to understand cause and effect.

Eg, sometimes when I feed him, I will pull out, squeeze the nipple and see if there are any more milk coming out. This afternoon.. he was happily feeding halfway... and then I think he realized that no more milk was coming out. He moved his mouth away.. and then used his fingers to grab my nipple and squeezed it...

OUCH!

I told him that it is very painful and that he should not grab it. He looked at me... grabbed one more time to make sure that there is no milk and then gave up...

I dunno whether to luff or cry...

Later in the day, i sent him to grandma's place cos me and daddy were bz tonight and could not take care of him... when we reached grandma's place to pick him up, grandma told us that he got upset when she put him down to make milk and he started to whine and cry...

"Then popo (tat's my mum's mother) told him '不可以哭' (Cannot cry).." and immediately, he smiled and luffed out loud..

Hahahahaha....

Man... kids... 又好气，又好笑...

Ace found his ZHI YIN

You know.. a "ZHI YIN" (it is chinese for good fren.. loosely translated, it means 'know your sound') is really hard to come by...
For me, it took me a good 13 years on earth before I found my BEST FREN, Karen...

Ace is very kiang... it onli took him seven and a half months to find his ;) hahahaha... (by the way, tat is ah yee and Ace... and ah yee is another ZHI YIN of his..)

The other day, I was sending FP to Liming... and since she adores Ace (she is the only person you will see on this blog who says tat Ace's Naked Pics are VERY NICE.. muahhahahah), I brought Ace up to her house also lor...

Ace saw her, grabbed on the grills of her door and went, "jgah jgah jgah jgah"

Yday, we met up with Liming again... on the way home, in the car.. Liming started talking to Ace.. Ace was so happy tat someone finally understood his language and he started to make a variety of sounds... the conversation went something like this:

Liming: jgah jgah jgah jgah

Ace: Maamamama.. jgah jgah jgah jgah

Liming: You talking to me? jgah jgah jgah jgah

Ace: Dadada..bababa...jgah jgah jgah jgah

Liming: jgah jgah jgah jgah

Turns out that Liming is well trained in the art of conversing with babies and children. Her bf's nephew can talk non stop in the car from Jurong till bedok. All she needs to do is to ask, "Where is your best fren?" And he will start talking non stop.

Sometimes, if she is talking to other people, he will request, "Can you dun talk?" and once she quietens down.. he starts to talk to her NON STOP.. muahahaha..

I asked Liming if she has got 'round shit' (yuan fen- affinity) with children... her reply, "Well, I am FULL OF LOVE.."

Muahahaha...

Anywayz, when we reached Liming's house and she said bye bye to Ace.. to our amusement and surprise.. Ace said, "baaaaaaaaai baaaaaaaaaii...."

Copyright Issues

I am told that Ace is the most popular product testimonial in the company that I work with.

Over the weekend, there was a seminar for all the people who are working with the company that i work with.. (I was not there, so someone told me) and there was a segment where they had to do presentation and come up with presentation files...

Ace is the most popular product testimonial by virtue of the fact that his photo is the most over exposed and most used...

You see... I work with a company to help improve people's lives in all physical, mental and emotional aspect ;) Part of it involves marketing pdts that help to make people look and feel 5-10 years younger within 3-5 months time...

I myself am a product testimonial.. and so is my son.. because I consumed alot of the products when I was pregnant... ;)

How did they get his photo? Some took pics of him on their phone... some I think downloaded his pics from THIS BLOG ;)

Which brings me to the next point... I think I should start to CHARGE copyright liao.. I have been advised to in future, put my blog addy on the pics tat i post of Ace.. hahaha.. like tat is going to stop pple from downloading his pics..

I think hor.. if there is copyright for his photos. i will be a very rich woman so so many pple ask for his pics everyday.

THere are other pple who suggest i blow up his pics for them to use as dream board so tat they can loook at it everyday and in future give birth to a cute baby like Ace ;)

Ace Can Sa Jiao

Yes.. Ace knows how to 'teh' people and 撒娇...

I can't believe it.. a 7.5mth baby knowing how to do that...

Well, it happened like this.. Grandpa and grandma came in the midst of my feeding Ace... Grandma decided to take over the feeding and added more soup and pumpkin to his carrot and corn gruel...

Maybe it was too watery.. so Ace couldnt swallow properly and kept spitting it out... after a short while, grandma gave up and handed the job back to mummy...

Mummy was really getting frustrated after a while because he was dribbling all over the place and just doesnt seem to swallow. He would puke out everything you put into his mouth and smile at you and keep waving his hands to show that he wants to be carried..

"Nobody wants to carry you lah.. quick, eat your food.." mummy scolded him...

And then before I knew it.. he make his mouth into that familiar M shaped.. opened it and started to CRY.... using the corner of his eye.. he looked out of the study room (as if he is waiting for grandpa and grandma to come and carry him and save him...)

Mummy then stared at him and said, "No, you got to finish then got bao bao..." and continue to stare at him in silence..

After he cried for a while, he realised that he was not getting his way.. so he stopped.. but the moment grandpa walked in... he made his m shaped mouth and started his nonsense again...

I told grandma about what happened.. she is very amused... as for me? I am just amazed tat a 7th month old also knows how to 'teh'... what is going to happen when he is 1 years old???:P

Ace Chua, MOVIE STAR!

Someone sent me this poster and asked me since when did my son become a movie star....

I took a double take when I saw this pic man....

The resemblance is uncanny!!

"Did you superimpose this?" I asked that fren.. who happens to be one of the web designers i respect most..

"Of cos not.." he says...

"I got that from the website.. i have the same poster at home.." (he is a john woo and chow yun fatt fan)

Maybe it is the botak head... or maybe it is the position he is sitting in... from afar, it really looks hell of a lot like Ace lor...

Hahahaha..... i scrutinized at that poster with Daddy and then I came to a conclusion...

New Bath Time Routine

Ace has a new bathtime routine...

Since he can stand with support now, I have been using the shower to shower him while he stands lately..

I still fill the tub with water for him to play with it after his bath.. and have added rubber duckie (one big and one small one) and also the (willy the whale tat can squirt water) to it... and he enjoys it tremendously..

Hahaha.. now I use it as a reward and tell him things like if he is good boy, he gets to play with his toys during bath time tommorrow.. hahah ;)

I think i will take away the whale and put in his floating ship next week.. if not play with the same toy again and again also sian...

Ace KOK his head

Well, Ace was happily sitting on his mattress that day.. and all of the sudden, he toppled over to the side before I could catch him and "KOK", before I knew it, his head already hit the floor...

He started to cry loudly and so I picked him up and sayang him...

I guess it didn't feel very painful cos after about 5 seconds, he stopped crying.. but when i put him down, he started to cry and cry.. when i put him back into a sitting position, he started to give those kind of fake cries tat babies love.. and i think you may admire him for it.. he actually managed to squeeze out some tears too! :)

Well, I started to play with him.. and in a while.. it was SUNSHINE AFTER THE RAIN liao...

Peekaboo!

Ace is at the age where he loves peekaboo games....

And boy does he enjoy them and give out loud laughter ;)

Some of his favourites are:

1) mmm... CHAK!: It goes like this.. you use a hand, handkercheif, bolster, scarf to cover yourself and you say"mmm.." when you do that... and then when you remove the obstruction to show your hidden face.. you must say "CHAK" and then give Ace a big grin.. and he will (depending on his mood) either grin back or start to giggle uncontrollably...

2) Tickle-me-baby: Once Ace shows some sign of being heated up.. (meaning you hear him softly giggle), you can play this game with him.. tickle him around his neck, his body.. his thighs and he will scream with delight and laugh non stop! ;P

3) Talk like me: Well, the game goes like this.. Ace makes a noise.. and then you take turn to make the same noise.. he will make another noise and then it is your turn to make the same noise... you can try making diff noises at him.. and he is usually very amused..

4) Grab the ball: A shopkeeper gave him a ball that day.. and it has since become his favourite toy... he will grab it and press it (cos there is a squeek coming out when you press it..). Just show him the ball.. and put it at diff places in front of him for him to grab. Alternatively, you can hide the ball and ask him to find it...

5) Mummy pick-up-sticks: Well, while playing grab the ball, Ace decided to change the game to ask me to pick up the ball... he would grab it for a while.. and then throw it away and smile at me to get me to pick it up.. if I dun, he will make some noises... and it will get louder and louder till i pick it up.. but when i pass the ball to him (after i teach him to say, "pls mummy, can you pick the ball up and pass it to me?") he will give me a cheeky grin and throw it on the floor again..

But well, no matter wat games he has progressed to... I know there is one game he will never get tired of... and it's called "I want my nen nen..." hahahaha

Adventures of Swimming Ace

Hi all,

This is baby Ace here. I am here to stand in for mummy today because I think she needs to take a good rest. She has been working very hard to take care of my because of my runny nose so I think she deserves a break lah.

Anywayz, I am here to tell you about my swimming adventures.

Yesterday, Daddy and mummy had some free time on hand and so they took me shopping at suntec. We went to the kids' mall area.. and Daddy lamented that he has no chance to buy clothes for me and dress me anyway he likes cos there are too many people who love me and buys me clothes.. especially for this new year;)

You know.. for CNY, i have enough new clothes to wear from first day to last day of new year and still got left over leh! All my ganmas bought me clothes.. my grandmothers too..

And all of a sudden, Daddy decided that he wanted to bring me swimming and brought me to Toys R Us to choose a float :) After that, he and mummy spent another 30 min searching and finally bought me a YELLOW looney tunes swimming trunks.. (which I think I can wear all the way until I am 3 years old man)

The best thing is.. no one asked me for my opinion lor.. they just decided to do it and assumed that i would enjoy it ;)

Today, I woke daddy up bright and early cos I shit.. and cos the night before I was grumpy.. Mummy was tired and was still sleeping when we woke.. Daddy cleaned me up, woke mummy and then we went to pick Ah Yee up and proceeded to Uncle melvin's house to swim...

Along the way, I fell alseep in the car because I was really tired lor. I mean, I havent been sleeping much these days and also have not been sleeping through the night. I was so tired I have dark circles around my eyes!

When we arrived, it was so quiet.. Daddy blew up the float some more and threw it in..then he threw me in and boy was it cold! I started to cry and hang on to the float for my dear life. I gave Daddy my M shaped mouth look but he continued to cajole me.. since it wasnt getting the message across that I dun like swimming, I decided to cry....

In the end, Daddy brought me over to the big pool instead of the baby pool cos there was sunlight there and the water was slightly warmer ;)

Ah Yee, Mummy and Daddy gathered around me and Ah yee kept asking me, "Why dun you smile? See, swimming is so fun.. Xiao feng wanna swim? Swimming is so fun.."

I tot my Ah Yee is crazy... "How can swimming be fun?" I tot to myself... I mean the water is so cold.. and then there is so much water around me.. I am so scared I will fall in man...

Really dun understand those adults.. i think they were the more enthusiastic bunch.. they just assumed I would like to swim because other children love to swim...

Daddy decided to take me out from the float and carry me.. he then tried to help me learn to swim but I refused to let go of him and so I kept holding on to his shoulders...

Ah Yee kept playing with me.... and then finally, when I got into the mood of things and got used to the water.. Daddy declared that it was time to go home...

We took some photos together... and then proceeded home...

Anywayz, wai po says no more swimming for the while because foot and mouth disease is abound now... and she says there is a little red dot on my leg.. and that mummy must observe it and make sure it is not foot and mouth disease...

Oh well, I gotto go wake mummy up for my milk.. I am feeling hungry again..

I have FINALLY found a baby contest to enter Ace in. IT is a Baby Idol contets and some photo competition organized by HSBC. Entry form is in my hands.. will be sending it in..

Will let you all know if he gets into the finals.. if he does.. all mbrs of AAC will be informed and you are encouraged to bring your pom poms to support him at the competition.. hiaks ;)

Uncle Misses Ace

Ace's Uncle, Wilson.. tat is Max's brother loves Ace alot...

Uncle Wilson is 11 years younger than Max and is currently serving NS now.. in fact, he just got conscripted onli...

Before he got into NS, he kept telling me.. "I will visit Ace during weekends when I am home.. "

"If I dun see him often, will he forget me?" he kept asking me...

As a result, we took this photo... so that i can show Ace and ask Ace to remember his chek chek.. hahahah ;)

But dun worry, Wilson, photo or no photo... I am sure Ace remembers you.. blood is thicker than water they say.. ;)

Leng Zhua has a runny nose 2

Last nite was not a good night for me....

Cos Leng Zhua has a runny nose... and last nite.. he kept me quite awake... so now i have got panda eyes....

Leng Zhua was already asleep when I went to pick him up at grandma's place... and he was a little feverish when we picked him up.

A little worried for him and worried that his fever may get worse, I put him in bed and let him sleep beside me so that I can monitor him and so that he can benefit from the negative ions and far infra red rays of the kiko mat I am sleeping on and recover faster.

Because he was somewhat feverish, I tried to let him have a bigger space.. so I squeezed myself so close to the side that I was like half sleeping on Ace's bed (which was beside my bed) instead.

Somehow.. when he is sick, he will start to turn around.. he was initially parallel to me..midnight.. he started to swivel and when i woke up to check him.. his head was against my body and his legs were against Daddy... whenever he does that, he will start to kick daddy and remembering how daddy said that his kicking kept him awake, i decide to turn him back... (even though I know he will go back to that position..)

I think an hour later, I woke up again to check him... he was feverish still....and he was perpendicular to me liaoz.. since he is not kicking, i ignored him... I was kind of worried but I tried to console myself.. someone ever told me that if your baby is feverish, it is cos he has built antibodies and the antibodies are fighting the virus.... so I told myself it must be tat reason tat he is suddenly feverish after being happily having a runny nose for two days... (he still smiles and plays despite tat)

A while later, when i woke up, I realised tat he is now perpendicular to me but his head if facing my feet.. and the best part is tat he is awake.. and he flipped over on his stomach and was all sweaty...

I wiped away his sweat and then returned to bed....

An hour later, I woke up and found him to be not as feverish.. i thinks sweating it out helped but he was still warm.. not to take any chances, i woke up, got a towel and started to towel him with a wet tower...

An hour later, i woke up, spray kinertec water on him with a spritzer.. and he started to wriggle here and there...

Then I made a huge sacrifice.. i let him have my half of the bed... and i slept in one corner all rolled up....

An hour later, I woke to check on him.. all okay...

Finally at around 6am, he woke and I went back to my original position so that I could feed him....

He was ok when he was awake today.. however.. when i was feeding him lunch, he puked all the milk and the gruel i fed him and yes, he puked all over me :S

Yet after he puked, he got better and better... and finally, he even stopped having a runny nose... I am happy to announce that now, he just has a blocked nose...

I read up on his symptoms and realized tat it could either be a cold or allergy reaction to dust... did you know babies have to have colds at least 3-4 times a year cos they need to build their immune system? tat sucks.. but at least most of the time, Ace is happy...

Darn.. i think it is cold lah.. but if it is an allergy reaction (shit, he has some of the symptoms like clear mucus, wipes his nose, blueish red under the eyes) to dust.. I will seriously consider investing in that RAINBOW vacum cleaner....

Anywayz, I tried to clean the house just now in case it is the dust that is getting him and when i switched on the vacum, he just cried and screamed.. how to clean like tat?? luckily, daddy was at home so i got daddy to carry him while i cleaned...

I look forward to a good nite's sleep today...

Pray for me... will you....

Ace Chua has a runny nose

For the first time n Ace's life, he has caught a runny nose.... and guess wat, I think he may have got it from ME:S

Well, as usual.. mummy gets her runny nose whenever she does not have enough sleep.. and for the past few days for new year, mummy did not sleep well.. so by the third day of new year, she was having a massive runny nose hit...

It did not help that other people around Ace were also having running nose... eg, Chek chek wilson and oracle jie jie... worst still, during CNY.. so many pple were carrying him here and there.. there was so much passing of hands that I do not know who is carrying him sometimes..

Sigh.. he din use to get it no matter how bad my sneezing was... i guess wat i read is really true.. tat babies.. when born, have got natural immunity that they recieved from their mother.. after 6 months, they will gradually lose this immunity and will have to build their immunity all over again by themselves...

Anywayz, when Ace woke up yday, he was still quite okay... then after he bathed.. he started sneezing and having a runny nose... to makes matter worse.. maybe becuase he is teething.. maybe because he cannot breathe from his nose...he just cannot seem to control his saliva and was salivating more than usual... so he is a messy sight when he sneezes...

Strangely though.. he was not like SICK sick.. cos he is his usual happy self.. still happy and smiling.. just that he sneezes now and then and has muscus running down his nose every now and then..

I heard from Jez Ah Ma that some children will have a positive connotation with being sick because when they are sick, their parents will shower them with more attention than usual.. so whenever her children gets sick.. she will scold them and tell them that she hates it when people gets sick...

Afraid that Ace might get that association, I kept telling Ace, "See, sick so xin ku right? Isn't it better to be healthy?"

Ah Yee helps by reminding him that he is a happy healthy baby..

On top of tat.. I also tell him that I dun like it when he is sick and ask him to get well quickly... I tell him when he is sick I cannot sleep well or rest well... and I also tried 'scolding' him for getting sick.. (but as I scold.. my own heart pain pain.. sigh...)

And it's true... somehow at night.. when he is wheezing away (cos his nose is stuck and he closed his mouth and was trying to breathe through his nose), mummy's heart very pain and mummy cannot sleep well... so afraid that something may happen to him in the middle of the night...

And for some unknown reason.. Ace likes to sleep perpendicular to mummy when he is sick.. everytime i make him parallel to me.. he turns himself perpendicular.. i wonder wat is the logic behind it all..

I tot Ace will sleep alot when he is sick.. after a nite of waking up.. I had wanted to sleep in a little longer.. alas, Ace had other plans. This morning, he woke up and started to PULL MY HAIR, SCREAM OUT LOUD.. so I had no choice but to wake up at 8.30am in the morning..

As I type this and look at his zonked out face.. (he is admiring the music I am playing for him.. it's the same CD we always listen together when I was pregnant) i think it is time i made him sleep again.. he should rest more.. so should I.. ;)
